  DH and I were thinking of the nn Ella for:

  Estella, Aubriella, Briella

  Are you looking for names that can have the nn Ella, or just wondering if others thought that Ella only sounded like a nn?

  PP's have given great suggestions, so I'll just say that if you both like Ella, it is a full name all on it's own and very nice (just pretty popular).

  Ella, or names sounding very similar such as Ellie, Elle, Ellen, Helen, Eleanor, etc. are very popular around here.  There have been at least a couple in DS's class both this year and last.

  That being said, if you love the name go for it.
