Wow! My husband and I rented "Business of Being Born" and watched it a few nights ago and I was seriously blown away. I cried. My husband told me that he thought he "failed me" and in a sad way that is like the sweetest thing ever. I am horrified that this is what the United States has come to in terms of birthing. The movie is eye-opening to the disgusting way that birth is being handled now a days. I wish every woman would watch this!
I'm now starting the book "Pushed" as well and its equally disturbing, if not moreso. I sometimes have to put the book down even though I'm so into it and want to learn as much as possible- its just so upsetting to me. I have this nasty scar on my stomach and an even bigger one in my heart and mind, for probably no reason at all. If I had read this book and watched the movie before my first birth I guarantee that I would have had a homebirth. Now thats not an option as no one around here practices homebirths for VBACs.
