uppababy gluxe? or other lightweight stroller recommendations?

Anyone have the UppaBaby gLuxe?  We love our Vista but are looking for something smaller/lighter for travel.  Merry-go-round was out so we couldn't "test drive"

Alternately what other lightweight strollers do people love?  (I know this has been asked, so if anyone has the compile that would be wonderful too)

Thanks
Theresa

  • We have this one from babies r us.  So far we like it for leaving in the car for quick trips etc.  It doesn't recline well though. For bigger trips like a day in Seattle Center we use the Graco that came with out carseat system like this.

  • I want to say Maddie has that one.

We bought the Chicco liteway and thought we would love it, but returned it after one day. It had a wonky wheel, but I also didnt like acouple things with it, so was glad to return.

We plan to get this one. It's cheaper then most, really good reviews and I like the size. Smaller then my graco quattro, but is roomier, larger sunshade, and double wheels compared to other lightweight.  It also comes in some other colors but this one is on a good sale.

  • We have the G-Luxe, and I LOVE it.  We just travelled on the plane with it yesterday and have been using it all day today in Disneyland.  I love how easily it handles, I easily pushed DD in it with one hand and pulled a suitcase behind me.  It turns super easy.  It has an adjustable recline and it's one of those pull string ones, so you can adjust it to any angle you want.  I hang my purse off the handles and can take her out without it tipping over, but if I put anything else it will, I just try to remember to take my shopping bags off first ;)  And it comes with a cup holder which was a total plus for me.  =)

  • Go with the G-Luxe! We have the Maclaren Triumph and it's great, but nothing fancy IMO. The Uppa Baby G-luxe has some nice features like the cup holder, sunshade and most importantly, it reclines quite a bit which can't be said of Maclaren umbrellas. They recline but it's barely even noticeable. Wish I'd bought the G-luxe!

    Ah well...next baby maybe.

  • I have the GLite and I really like it.  I would have spent the extra $ and gotten the GLuxe, sturdier wheels and a recline.

Just wanted to say that the Mia Moda Veloce has all these things and is priced better.

    Definitely worth checking out. Thanks!

Theresab, another one to consider is the Bumbleride Flite. I've read/heard good things, but it's even more pricer than the G-Luxe.

  • I also had M try out each of the strollers, which was where an issue with the chicco came up.  He is 40", 32lbs so it was nice to see how bigger kids fit in them.
