How was your Mother's day? How did you spent it? What did your DH/ signification other & kiddos get you? Was it as you hoped?
It was my 1st (as it was for a few of your too) and I guessed it went as it did. I had to get up in the morning because I work at a local church nursery. Then I went home and cleaned house (mopped, vacuumed, etc since my DH & SIL hadn't done any of that around the house in weeks). But the nice thing was my sister invite myself, my DD, my mom, & my dad over for dinner. Then at that the end of the day my DH came home from his work with flowers & sugar cookies.
Sweet, but I really love cookies but not sugar so much. lol. But the card said I get TEN DAYS of sleep in with Daddy daycare! :-)
How was yours?
Re: Mother's Day Dish (what did you get, do, etc.)
I had a great day with my boys. They made me coffee & a crossiant for breakfast and then we went out for lunch with all my family. After lunch it was naps for all then DH cooked some yummy seafood up for us for dinner.
My gifts were - flowers, chocolate, perfume, pyjamas, massage voucher & a docking station for my I touch to use as an alarm - I was very spoilt
Hope everyone else had a great day with their loved ones!
We were in Oregon on Saturday for a wedding so we went to Multnomah falls for brunch on Mother?s Day. We had a great day of touring the Columbia Gorge. No gifts, but I did buy dishes and Crate and Barrel the day before, so I guess that counts.
Really good. Much better than last year where it felt all the focus was still just on our Mom's (petty, I know!). Friday I got roses delivered at work. Then DH went to lunch with friends, but brought me back a caramel latte!
Saturday DH woke up with G at 6am or so and took care of him all morning while I slept until 9:30! Then after a lazy morning and naps for all, we went for a family walk & picnic at Kubota Gardens = so much fun. What a great place for toddlers!
Sunday DH stayed up late the night before processing some great photos he took, and making cards for the Grandmas, so I got up with G. We made blueberry pancakes and were just generally lazy...I got a few small gifts (Bossypants, The Hand & The Heart & Brandi Carlisle CDs, super cute card). Then we stopped by the restaurant to see my Mom and siblings (adding 5 more people there would not have worked, especially waiting for a table with a toddler) ...so per plan we then headed to my MILs for casual potluck brunch around noon. Hung our for about 3 hours, came home - more lazy on my part (reading, pinterest etc.)....DH made Chinsese dinner..yum.
I did not chance one diaper - Overall a FABULOUS weekend!
Cam slept in until 8:30 so we all lounged around in the morning. After she got up, Dustin had her bring my my present in bed. It was so cute cause it was a big bag so she was dragging it with a HUGE smile on her face. When she handed it to me she said "Happy Moders Day Mommeeeee!" I melted... DH had listened recently when I mentioned I was thinking about getting a Clairsonic, and he got me one!
Then we went to MIL's house for brunch w/ DH's whole fam and my mom and bro. I took a nap on the couch while they all played outside. Then went to Lowes, got some flowers and headed home to plant my hanging baskets. Played in the yard for a couple hours then went for a late Pho dinner with a bud. It was an awesome day
Steal my kids picture or pretend they are yours, I will find where you live and ship all of their dirty diapers to your doorstep. Promise.
DH made me breakfast (which he does every weekend, but I got to put in a request for what I wanted), DH left my presents out for DD to find, and she brought them to me......it was sweet! I got a pendant and a pot of Tulips.
Went to church, and came home and geared up for a Tacoma Rainiers game with the MIL and BIL. After the game my MIL took DD home with her to spend the night, then DH and I came home relaxed, went for a light dinner at the bar down the road, and came home and watched Date Night.
The next morning we both slept in until 8am (not something we do often!) and then I waited for MIL to bring DD home.
The only thing that almost went wrong, was MIL couldn't find her tickets to the game, 24 hours after DH gave them to her. DH told her it was going to be a loney Mother's Day unless she found them, because we were still going to the game with or without her.
It started off good: DH got me beautiful flowers, we had delicious bagels and my fave: MIMOSAS!
Then I had to spend the next 10 hours with my in-laws. Sorry.... but spending all freaking day with my MIL is exactly how I didn't want to spend my 1st Mother's Day. And I'm pretty sure I expressed that thought weeks ago.
LOL! Honsetly I would hated spending the day with my MIL. She lives in Cali so we never see her. She didn't wish me a happy mother's day at all. We sent her flowers like every year & every year we don't get a thank you or a by the way they arrived. Gotta love In laws!
