I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cheaper rear-facing carseat that we could use for this purpose. We just booked 3 flights over the next 3 months and I think buying a less expensive carseat for the vacations would be our best option. I'm looking for less than $100 but still a quality seat. DS has exceeded the pumpkin seat weight limit, and I don't want to take our every day carseat.
Re: s/o carseat for vacation
We just bought this one and really like it.

We have this one, and we use it as a secondary. It's nothing special (read: not the most comfortable seat), but it works just fine. I think you may have actually used it for J, a few times, in your car?
I do think that's the one I used. Good to know, it seemed comfortable for J and that's a big bonus since M is so big, I want to make sure I have something he fits in well.
Thanks ladies! Looks like Target is the place to go.
Duh! - I also meant to add that you are welcome to borrow it, if you want, unless you are in the market to buy a secondary seat, anyway.
Nope, the boys are never in my car, anymore.
