Pregnant after 35

successful ultrasound and first appointment!

Well, some of my paranoia has been laid to rest!  The ultrasound looked good and there was a heart rate of 128 BPM.  I found out the spotting I've been having is due to me having a "friable cervix" which has been exacerbated by increased blood flow during pregnancy - so in other words - it has nothing to do with what's going on INSIDE my uterus.  So that was excellent news!  They're referring me to a perinatologist  for a CVS in the next few weeks, and after that, I'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief!  My doctor told me to stop worrying so much, and my husband told her "good luck with that."

I am the same way you are about worrying about EVERYTHING!  And funny my doc and my husband had the exact same conversation during my last appointment.  My husband has really been getting upset with me about how much I stress and worry, so I understand.  But it's hard when you're the one carrying the baby.  Anyway...congrats on the good ultrasound and try your best to relax...it's just not fun stressing about everything!

  • Congrats Jenny that's great news.  Glad your worries about the can go away.  Good luck with your CVS, I just scheduled mine today and am super nervous.  If you don't mind, let me know how it goes.

I tend to worry and overthing EVERYTHING! My mind is never at rest, but I'm trying to focus on positive thinking.

    Good luck
