Ideas for Father's day..

Now that Mother's day is over, I have to start planning for DH's 1st Father's day. He did really well for my 1st Mother's day so I want to plan/give something nice as well. Currently, I plan to make him a daddy-baby photobook. Some of you did that photoshoot with LO holding D-A-D letters. I may borrow that idea especially now that I have a nice, new camera to play with! :-). I do not know what else to get him. Perhaps, get him a reservation for a massage??

What are you planning to do? Any other ideas??

I was thinking about the D-A-D photo thing, too, and maybe a bike trailer for Henry to ride in (I know MH wants one). But now I'm worried that that's too baby-centered, and maybe I should be focusing more on just MH and not something for MH to use with Henry? I don't know...... Huh?

Where do you get the D-A-D letter? I guess Michaels would have it?

Hmm..I got the SLR camera and DH knows I want to use it to take pictures of LO. I didn't think it's baby-centered? Perhaps, you can get that since it's something he and your LO can use and enjoy and then another small gift just for him? I'll probably have MH choose how he wants to spend the day (like he did with me).

Yeah, Michael's or JoAnn would have them. The white wooden letters that we got for Henry's room were from JoAnn, and I think they were originally $2.50 apiece, thought I got them on sale for $1.50. I suppose I could just take down the D and A from his room to do this, hmmm....... Wink

Oh cool! Yes, definitely do that! Too bad the letters on LO's wall doesn't have a D (but we have A) or I would have just used that.

I got him a special frame and put in it the first pic of them from the hospital when LO was born. And I got him a card from each of us.

This year I got them Tshirts (big B and little and I'll probably get MH a gc for iTunes or something. He got me a gc for a mani-pedi.

ooh, i'm totally doing the d-a-d photos - so glad you ladies reminded me about it! i might do 5 pictures, actually, "i heart dad", if i can find a good frame Smile ...hrm, or not, b/c i might want to make it small enough to put on his desk at work...

we don't do big gifts often. for mother's day, he got me 2 bars of chocolate, a watermelon, and a card. you have to understand how much i love watermelon to appreciate the gift, haha. and the chocolate is b/c i haven't found any i can eat while being dairy and soy free, and he found a brand i hadn't tried before. unfortunately, E still reacted Stick out tongue but it was a nice thought!

i LOVE watermelon also!! i buy 2 at a time from costco (which always gives DH excuse to say "you got big melons" lol) and i'm the only one who eats them :-p. I know suspect that it had something to do with why my E had the runs last week. i think i ate almost half of a watermelon in one sitting. elle had the runs the next day. maybe way too much fiber in my BM? Stick out tongue

i'm planning to look for a heart ...but only if i can find a good frame for 5 photos. that might be a little overkill, hrm...or maybe make a collage with the d-a-d ones? not sure, will need to think about this some more!

and haha, we buy watermelon 2 at a time too. though this one is the first one for us this year, so yummy! but thanks for the heads up on possible side effects of too much watermelon! Stick out tongue glad E is doing better Smile

I'm definitely doing the D-A-D letters photo idea. If I can find a frame with 4 openings, I'd like to do D-A-D-A because that's what she calls him..... :-)

I'll also get a card and let him sleep in that day.

We agreed that the splurge get-away on Kauai (which cost 2/3 of our total Hawaii trip!) was our Mother's Day and Father's Day gift to each other. Plus anniversary gift. :-)
