washing bottles sucks

My hands will never be the same between constantly washing/ sanitizing in the NICU and this.

Do you wash by hand still or throw everything in the dishwasher? I still wash by hand if I don't have anything in the dishwasher. It seems like a waste to just put a few bottles in for a full cycle.

Re: washing bottles sucks

  • I've always washed mostly by hand but once I switched to the Dr. Brown bottles I put some of the parts in the dishwasher to get them extra clean every once in a while (they have a lot of extra parts to clean and are a pita).

I always wash in the dishwasher.
  • Our dishwasher sucks so I feel like we do a much better job by hand. Luckily we only use them once a week though, so I don't mind.

I always wash in the dishwasher, but I also have my pump parts, and her food containers from daycare that go in there as well.  I have enough bottles and pump parts to only have to wash every other day (or longer).  I feel like we always have enough dishes/bottles/pump parts to at least fill up the top rack, so I don't feel too bad.

  • We washed by hand for a looong time but eventually just put everything in the dishwasher. I will be doing it in the DW this time whenever possible.

once Sydney was done with BFing at 9mo and we moved to FF  - oh, and the bottles we used at daycare - all that I'd done by hand.

I currently have no bottles to wash - but I do have daily sippy cups.  It never ends.

  • If we have enough stuff to fill the bottom rack, I'll put bottle and pump stuff in, but that rarely happens anymore because I'm not pumping much anymore.

  • I loathed cleaning bottles.  I did all my born free bottles by hand b/c the dishwasher made the parts greasy.  My husband refused to clean them too, which started countless arguements.  I was so happy when we moved to sippy cups that could go right into the dishwasher.  We bought like 25 of them so that we would never have to hand wash them, regardless of how often we ran our dishwasher.  I find I have so much more time on my hands.  I didn't know what to do with myself the first week we gave them up.
