Re: Twins born with two heads - one body

  • "Doctors said it would be nearly impossible to separate them."

    Nearly?

That is very sad, although they are joined in a better way than I have seen a lot of conjoined twins.

Ever see that documentry on the hensel twins? They're conjoined two heads and are over 16 years old.. they even have a license.. hopefully the babies can make it like they did..
  • There is a set of twins like that in the US. I think their names are Abby and Brittany. They are college students now. I understand that these little ones have an uphill road ahead of them, but that doesn't mean they can't have a good life. They are in a tough spot due to family situation, but if their parents can't manage it there is still a chance of adoption. They will be high-profile, which might catch the eye of someone who is willing and able to put in the effort of careing for them.

I am feeling super optimistic today, so that is how I am going to think of it.

  • I was so depressed until I remembered about Brittany and Abigail.  Hopefully these twins can live as full a life as possible like they do.

  • Depending on their circumstances, this could actually wind up being okay.Has anyone ever seen TV specials on Abigail and Brittany Hensel? Same basic condition and they are lovely young women!

Oh my. That how intense for them to deal with.  I don't get how they did not see the two heads on any ultra sounds. That's baffling to me.

The mother may not have had sufficient prenatal care.

  • How awful and fascinating at the same time.  I know conjoined twins are extremely rare, but it makes me shudder to think that if my embryo had split just a few days later that could have happened...
