Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Baby moving around in circles, but not forward/backward?

My little guy seems to be able to move around pretty good on his tummy by pushing himself around in circles with his arms and shuffling his legs a bit, but he can't move himself forward or backward yet.

Did anyone else's LO do this? How long did they do this before they started crawling or moving straight in certain direction doing an tummy/army crawl?

  • My LO is doing an army crawl as of this week but last week he was only going in circles. He started moving out of no where! I think your LO will be soon also!

DD does the same thing, but then she rolls on to her back.. I feel like I can't keep her on her tummy enough to start crawling!

  • About a month ago, he was able to get up on all fours, rock and then scoot backward (but not intentionally). A week or two later, he started spinning really well. This weekend he started crawling.

  • DD was doing the circle thing for about a month maybe a bit longer, she just started doing an army crawl last night and is already pretty fast. She did a full on crawl last week, one time, but hasn't done it since.

  • J started that abut 2 weeks ago. Now she is full on army crawling and gets up on her knees and rocks.

  • We're in the same boat. DD has been doing this for a couple weeks now going in circles. Hope she moves forward soon!

  • I've never actually seen the ninja circles, but either my DH is playing some sort of prank on me or every night T winds up the exact opposite direction that I laid her down (she sleeps on her stomach).

We are soo far from crawling though I think the circles will go on for a while.
