Water Birth?

Hi ladies!

I'm going to be moving to the Harrisburg area in about 2 months and I'm currently 3 months pregnant with #3.  Does anyone know of any hospitals in the area that allow water births?  This is kind of a new idea for me so I don't have my heart set on it just yet, just investigating the options.

Thanks!
Michelle

Re: Water Birth?

  • I haven't looked into it too far, but I was wondering the same thing.  I know Carlisle used to do water births, but I believe since they moved they do not anymore.  I'm delivering at Holy Spirit in Camp Hill and I cannot find any info on water births there (haven't asked my midwife yet).

Looked at Harrisburg hospital's website and I also could not find anything about water births.

    Anyone else find anything different?

That stinks.  My SIL had one of the last water births at Carlisle.  I also looked into any birthing centers that maybe around the area.  Again, I didn't find anything in the Harrisburg area.

  • Lancaster Womens and Babies may still do water births.  It might be a good place to check out!

  • Late here, but women&babies does not do water births.  You can check BirthCare in Bart, but that might be a little far!

This is where I am going, and yes, they do have birthing tubs.
