May 2011 Moms

My AW don't hate me post about baby weight.

It took me 9 months to put on 25 pounds while pregnant.
It took me 14 days to lose that 25 pounds, plus 5 more!

*edited because I'm an asshat and can't spell lose*

I still have about 20 pounds to shed before I'll consider being happy with my weight...but I am proud of myself for not completely sabotaging my Weight Watchers progress from the year before our BFP.

Pretty sad state of affairs when 2 weeks post pardum I am looking better in my bathing suits than I did last summer.

  • Congrats! I hope that my weight comes off like that.  I have gained a total of 40 lbs so far and I am not looking forward to how long it may take me to get back to normal.

  • Amazing - congrats to you! I'm hoping the weight I've gained "falls off" like everyone keeps telling me it will... I gained a lot more than you did so I'm doubtful. First, I need to get this little one out.

This weight has come off without even trying.  I guess I have been more conscious of what I am putting into my body, but not to any kind of extreme.

I can probably give all the credit to EBFing and practically flooding my body with water (I'm drinking almost 2 gallons a day right now without forcing myself) all day long. I haven't had anything other than water to drink for 2 weeks...and I don't miss it. You know what they say about not drinking your calories...what a waste! I'm eating small meals every 2-3 hours when I'm awake during the day...relatively healthy things - turkey sandwiches, apples with peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese with peaches - but I'm also eating a Klondike bar or mini key lime pie every evening, too. Oink!

  • Congrats!!  This gives me hope!  I've gained, 40lbs.  I'd like to lose an extra 10 as well.  All the hormones I was on and the stress of getting pregnant put me at my heaviest when I got my BFP.

    Edited for spelling fail.

His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!

    Congrats E, that's awesome!

I've got to agree, I gained a good 15 lbs or so before even seeing the BFP. I'd love for 30 of it to just go away quickly Smile

  • that's awesome! keep up the good work.

the only thing keeping me pumping right now is the fact that I'm losing weight like crayz.

  • Awesome! WTG!

I can't wait to have this baby out so I can start feeling like myself again. An extra 5 lbs would just be a plus.

I am in the same boat. I hope all this extra weight just falls off afterwards. But congrats! That is amazing. I hope you reach your goal soon enough :)

  • congrats girl! i have gained an icky 35lbs so far,and still have 3 weeks to go, but i know that breastfeeding helps. so im looking forward in losing that 35 within two months after birth. i started out overwieght, so after the 35lbs, i have a long wieght loss journey ahead of me... need to lose over 100lbs... hubby is deploying right after birth, and i know im supposed to lose for myself and my health, but that would be an awesome suprise for him when he gets back ;)
  • Holy moly woman, color me green with envy.  Yes  That's flippin awesome, I'm super excited for you. :)
  • you rock! yes that is what is making very, very nervous about not breastfeeding is that i won't lose a bunch of weight like I usually do. I remember with my first (csection) I was 6lbs under pre-preg weight at 1 week apt. I guess we will see! Haven't weighted myself yet to know where I am now.

  • Awesome! I am hoping for similiar results.  I lost weight at the beginning of pregnancy from eating healthier and besides the insane amount of sweets that I have eaten in the last few weeks I really have been eating healthier this whole time and have only gained 16 pounds as of today so here is hoping that baby making/birthing is also an awesome diet for myself.

  • That's great!  I lost all my baby weight with DS #1 within a month and a few more....then I went on the mini pill and started to gain back so I stopped and then it was so much harder to lose.

This pregnancy at almost 38 weeks  I have only gained a total of 14 pounds....mainly because of the GD diet I am now on.  I am hoping I will be back to my pre-preg weight leaving the hospital and then some. I have heard people who had GD sometimes lose more afterwards..... I am hoping that could be true for me.

    Again, CONGRATS!  Goood feeling!

  • Yay, good for you!!
  • I'm wondering how much I'll weigh 10 days pp. I lost 25 lbs the first 5 1/2 months of my pregnancy. I just now am 1 lb over my pre-pregnancy weight at 39weeks. I'm curious as to how much of that is pregnancy.

Congrates girl on your quick loss! And of course on your precious LO!

  • Its funny how for some, pregnancy can be one of the best things to happen for their figure.

I was a good 25 pounds heavier than I was comfortable with when I got prego,  mostly because I liked to drink lots of beer.  I have only gained 17 pounds during the pregnancy, and everywhere but my belly has gotten thinner - so I am hoping to be like you - but we will have to see :)
