Wow. I was not prepared for the impact of that. Our first pregnancy, and my symptoms have been mild, so it's been kind of an "idea" of a baby until the ultrasound. The sac and the blob showed up right away on the screen. And soon after, the visual ticker and the sound of the heartbeat. DH was in shock, and teary. Showed the pictures to my mother, who is in awe of the technology. Aren't we lucky to have this?
Re: First ever ultrasound and heartbeat
Wonderful! I am so glad that it was such an amazing experience.
We have my first ultrasound on Friday; I will be 6 weeks, 5 days. This is my first pregnancy. But I have never gotten excited about other people's ultrasounds and am really nervous that I won't feel anything when I see it.

Congrats to you on the great u/s! I understand the emotions. I felt exactly the same about 6 months ago. Cried too:-)
I just got back from my ultrasound and am grinning from ear to ear. I am having some bleeding so I was preparing myself for the worst but then I saw the heart beat and then got to hear it!!!! I would have started to cry but I think I used up all the tears last night thinking this was never going to end well for me. Boy was I wrong. Congrats on seeing your LO it really is a miracle
My poor husband couldn't come with me so he was on pins and needles till I called him after. I got pushed back a week so I am 6w 1d so my new due date is 1-1-12 lol Happy New Year to me!
Glad you had a positive experience too. it is amazing!

Congrats
We did our first scan today too. DH teared up and I just went nuts and couldn't stop crying. I suspected MC due to spotting so hearing baby heartbeats and even see baby moved (Dr. did 4D scan) gave me such a push and hope to carry on!
I'm showing off my Little Peanut picture to everyone too. Such a cutie
like a gummy bear.
