I really feel like the whole weekend does not matter anymore. My mom told us last night that she has cancer and that has kind of overshadowed the whole weekend. SHe found out about a a month and a half ago after her follow up for her endoscopy. She has Barics (sp) disease and that can cause cancer of the esophagos but for some reason the doctor cannot explain it migrated to her stomach and caused cancer there. They think they removed them all but are doing blood tests to be sure in June. If it has not all been removed she has already refused further surgery to remove the rest. Chemo and radiation do not work on this type of cancer. I am just so angry.
2mommies - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope blood tests bring good news!
My weekend was alright. Saturday DD and I went to NYC to visit some friends. One of my friends had yet to meet DD so that was great. We walked around, ate, and did some shopping. It was lovely weather and whenever I have a chance to visit with friends from home I take it.
Oh, but the best part of the day was returning home to find flowers sent by one my SILs. It was a mother's day bouquet and so thoughtful of her. There was a card in the mail from her and that card probably meant more than the flowers K got me.
Sunday DD and I shared a breakfast of veggie sausage and pancakes. Then she surprised me by taking close to a 3 hour nap. I took advantage of that time to shower, clean, and chat with K. When DD woke up we ran some errands and then she took me to PF Chang's for an early dinner ;-) She fell asleep in the car so when we got home she slept and I continued drinking the bottle of champagne that I opened with breakfast ;-p

My weekend was alright. I had the family over for brunch on Sunday, which was really nice. I made P-Dub's cinnamon rolls, which went over awesomely! They truly are amazing. Make them. Gain weight. It's alright.
Still no news on the TTC front. I realized all my symptoms are side effects of the progesterone I'm taking. Hopes dashed again! Just a few more days and we'll know for sure. K's being a champ, as always. She's my rock.
2mommies - Keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
This weekend was a bust. The meet and greet party attracted as many guests as vinegar does flies. J's parents and siblings, my sister and her kids, and 2 of our friends stopped by. I was disappointed beyond words, we had sent out 30 invites and that's all we got. Full vent is in my blog, I won't subject everyone to it here.
J worked on Sunday as usual and since we had agreed to do my mother's day celebration on American Mother's Day I figured she would come home with a small bouquet of flowers and some type of treat (my favorite dark chocolate probably) but she came home empty handed. I found out midday that she and her mom had made plans the previous day for us to go over for dinner so that's what we did. When we got there they were having the leftovers from our party which I didn't eat any of since it all had meat, it was just another weekly visit, not a special mothers day thing. We came home and watched TV and went to bed.
Today we are keeping A out of school and going to the Natural History Museum and maybe the Science Center to celebrate mother's day for me.
2mommies - I am so sorry. That sucks. I hope you get good news in June. Fingers crossed.
Friday night I worked a bit late and came home to find L and the kids
doing yard work. We worked till dark, grilled burgers, and got the kids
to bed late.
Saturday - I guess the kids were excited about going
to Hershey because they were up at 5:40. We were on the road by 7:30
and spent from 11a-7:30p in the park (stopped en route for breakfast and
had to wait 45m to get our season passes.) It was a beautiful day for
the parks and while it was crowded, we barely had to wait for any of the
kiddie rides. And one day I am going to ride a roller coaster when I am
there (can't really wait 45m to ride!) We were all exhausted and asleep in the hotel within seconds.
Sunday
- the kids gave us a Mother's Day present of sleeping till 7:15. We had
breakfast in the hotel, took the kids swimming, and then hit up
Chocolate World where we rode the "how they make chocolate ride" 3x,
looked around the gift shop, and saw the 3-D movie. Got on the road
around lunchtime, stopped for lunch en route, and got home around 3. I
took the kids to the playground while L mowed and then we worked in the
yard while the kids played hide and go seek (Gray hid behind our HVAC
unit for 20 minutes and neither Carter nor I could find him. He didn't
come out until I started threatening because I was getting worried!)
When L went to put laundry in, she realized that the washer wasn't
working/not draining so we got on a hunt to get someone in to repair it
today.
I felt badly on Saturday night because I had forgotten to take the kids to get a card for L. But she didn't do it either, so all is good! We decided that we considered Mothers Day to be Saturday in house
this year because Sunday was a lot of work, the kids had lost their
listening ears, and we were exhausted. Saturday was a lot more fun!:)
Our weekend went way too fast...i dont know why i thought it was going to be relaxing.
Friday Sprout went to my gym and we brought RB to the playground. Got the girls bathed and in bed, then went to pick up Sprout.
Saturday we went to a kids museum in the morning, then to a fun pizza place for lunch. DW got bacon cheeseburger pizza and the kids got mac n cheese pizza :P The kids went down for a long nap and in the afternoon we had a great time at a first bday party.
Sunday we had a lazy morning at home and did some grocery shopping. Home for lunch and nap then spent the afternoon at a picnic with DW's family.
This weekend was a bust. The meet and greet party attracted as many guests as vinegar does flies. J's parents and siblings, my sister and her kids, and 2 of our friends stopped by. I am so sorry about your mom 2moms. I will be thinking about you guys hoping june brings good news.
Friday I worked and then tutored. I didn't get home until 5:30. When I arrived home DW and E were just getting up from a three hour nap. I was exhasted and E was up for a while. I was not all that happy. I attempted to make E a shirt for march for babies and messed it up.
Sat I was up at the crack of dawn with E who woke up early. Then off to the craft store to buy a new t-shirt for E since I screwed up her walk for babies shirt friday night. Got home and washed and started to make shirt #2 while trying to pack up for the walk while DW studied for an exam. Finished shirt and headed out. We arrived at the parking garage only to find it full so we parked on the street knowing we would get a ticket (we did but it was only $5 more than what the garage would have cost). The day was really beautiful when we got there which was much different than the horrible weather last year. We had a nice group of my parents, dw's best friend, my best friend and her daughter, E, our favorite primary nurse and her husband. Team Bumble Bee had a good crew. As we walked the sky was getting darker so we turned around and made it back to the tents before the thunder and lightning started. It was a good day though. We saw some old hospital friends and one of our favorite neos was there too. It was fun, E did not nap all day but held it together.
Sunday we had a mellow day. DW has her last final today so she spent the day doing school work. I got to deal with a very cranky toddler. We did go to the park which was fun but the rest of the day was filled with hissy fits and whining. S and I decided we are doing a mother's day redo next week.

I felt our Mother's Day could had been better. It started out nice then went downhill very quickly. We had gotten each other a small plant for Mother's Day, but I had given my DW a card - but not a card from her. We went out for breakfast in town, then to a hardware store where she picked out two items that we did not discuss previously. The only reason I wanted to go to the store was to get a new CO2 detector for our home. I was grouchy after that.... (pissed off is more like it!) ...
Anyway, the highlight for me was the long nap that LB and I had together until DW joined us. Then I was wide awake after that - so I took LB with me and we did some fun things outside. I was still in a bitter mood. I hope today will be better for us.
Our weekend was fun. Friday night was date night - K got to decide since I chose last weekend. She chose Japanese, no surprise there after dinner we were both exhausted from a 5 mile walk/jog we did earlier in the day and so we went home and watched DVR'd shows.
Saturday we drove up to Northampton to go to pride. It was nice to see my old friends but as the years go by, I notice we have less and less in common. I am too old (and too pregnant) to hang out in a parking lot and 'pre-game' before EVERYTHING. It was fun when we were 20 but we are no where near 20 anymore and..well.. we left quite early. They were intent on drinking the day away so we snuck off by ourselves and shopped and left in time to miss the big storm. When we got home, I fell asleep for about 4 hours.. woke up in time for K's fantastic nachos and went back to bed.
Sunday we went to the Red Sox. It was a beautiful sunny day and the won! We spent the rest of the afternoon in the South End, visiting my sister at the theater she is rehearsing her new show at and then home!
2mommies - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope the next news is good. Worrying about our parents is the hardest part of getting older I think.
Butterfly - Aw, I'm sorry about your party.
My weekend was fun, although I probably pushed myself post-surgery a bit more than I should have. My sister had sort of a disaster of a time on the train to NYC w my nephews, so I felt awful about that. The train time had too much overlap with nap and they wouldn't sleep and they were scared of the noise and they both wanted Mommy all to themselves. We worked hard to make sure they all had fun on their visit, and tried hard to talk up choo-choos for the return trip. We went to two playgrounds, ate in two parks, rode a ferris wheel, and played with toys at home.
Although I loved having my family visit, it was also nice to not have to be the ones driving/riding home afterwards. Because they have kids we end up going there much more often than they come here. Hauling the double stroller around and dealing with nap time and all of that stuff in NYC really reminded me of why DW and I want to move before we have our own children. I see all kinds of amazing urban parents but I just don't think it's our style.

dinner with friend at our new place Friday night and they decided that they want to throw a impromptu small shower so we discussed. I feel bad because they dont really have the money to do it but told them to use our house ( not sure if that is awkward but we have a house now hope its unpacked and cleaned by then) It will be co-ed - should be fun we will see how the plans pan out.
Saturday Melanie just laid around as she all of the sudden became super uncomfortable and really swollen - she did soak her feet and was litteraly layed out the entire day. I ran around like a crazy doing errands returning things for melanie and getting curtains and blah blah blah
Sunday we went to our friends home for lunch and it was delish .. We all celebrated Mothersday as new moms. They just finalized on their adoption of their son !!! It was nice. Then home and Melanie back to laying down . It was a great day.

Friday my gf and I had date night. We played pool and drank beer at a place close to my work. We had a friendly wager and I lost, so I will have to pay that bet back soon. Then we went to a nearby restaurant for paella which was awesome and went home and crashed.
Saturday we slept in and went to have crepes at a place we had a group.on for which was ok. Well the sweet one was awesome, the savory ones...eh. Then we spent a couple hours in rei and found new jackets and camp pads that we are going to wait to order when their sale comes at the end of the month. We grabbed a beer and lamented the fact that I had to leave and my gf was going to work in the morning. I left and met my old boss and her son for dinner, it was nice to catch up with her.
Sunday I had left my phone on to hear from DD's dad about getting her for mom's day only to begin receiving the onslaught of mom's day well wishes at 8:45...sigh. Guess I should have been up anyways. No word on DD prompted my call at 10:30 and finally at noon she was home. Guess that's what I get for trying to be flexible for DD's sleep, it gets abused. The weather was iffy, so we had lunch and then went to see Rio which was cute. Dinner at a restaurant and home for a much needed bath and to bed for DD. Best part of the day...DD wrote Happy Mothers Day on a card she made for me...all in her own handwriting!:) I got a pic of DD with the card on my phone, we'll see if I can get this uploaded for Thursday!
2 mommies, I am sorry to hear about your mom. Sending positive energy her way!
My weekend was okay. Friday I had the HSG done, which was painful but happy that my tubes are clear. Sadie (furbaby) came home from having her knee surgery, so DW and I had planned for this weekend to be a low-key one. So, we basically took care of Sadie, with meds and ice packs and making sure that she was comfortable. We had a frozen Kashi pizza for dinner and watched The Machinist. Well, she watched and I did some homework.
Saturday was more of the same, just lounging, and taking care of Sadie. I made breakfast, a shrimp omelet and home fries. We ordered Chinese for dinner and watched another netflix movie.
Sunday, Sadie was doing amazingly well but I was still worried. We went to my in-laws home and ate really well. The menu was pancit, pork barbecue, ribs, dungeoness crab, and the dish called menudo, which is like a beef stew and rice of course. We had ice cream cake for desert. DW and I drove separately because I wanted to get back to Sadie and she wanted to stay and play Mah Jong. It was great because I got a chance to have the house to myself so I could catch up on my DVR'd baby shows!
I called my mom for mother's day who lives in NYC and she sounded sad over the phone. I know I need to get up there to see her because every time we talk she sounds sad. When I told her I put a check in the mail, she perked up a little!

My partner and I had a real, honest-to-goodness DATE on Saturday night. It's rare for us - we both work crazy schedules and are sort of homebodies at heart, so despite being in the middle of the greatest city in the world, we spend a lot of our free nights at home watching the DVR, perhaps taking advantage of New York's fabulous take-out cuisine. But this weekend we got all nice'd up and went OUT, and had a lovely time. Trying to savor our last few weeks alone!
Sunday we had no plans to do anything but call our mothers and grandmothers, but we got a number of texts wishing us a happy mother's day, which was really sweet. Did some research on baby monitors, which we finally decided we do need despite the size of our apartment, finally picked out a diaper bag, and played some music for the belly. Hard to believe how close we are.
Orgnc: HSG got us pregnant! Could have been a coincidence, but I've definitely heard of others having luck in the cycle immediately following an HSG. I think it helps to clear you out/lube you up so the little swimmers have an easy journey.
I wish we could start next month but with looking for a new job and starting grad school, it's just a little too much. Our original plan was August but I was able to sneak it to July since I am supposed to O at the end of the month! DW is so excited! She went to play golf yesterday and came home with a Flip video that she won a a silent auction. She said, "we can use this to record our baby!!" I smiled and said "Absolutely baby!"
So here's to July Baby Making!
