  • You were on my mind tonight! How are you?

I am exhausted! Going to bed soon, had a very rough afternoon at the OB (2 girls one at 11w and one at 30w discovered no HB WHILE I WAS THERE, so I waited for 2 hours while they were dealt with, my POOR OB! I told her next week I bring wine) I cried the whole way home.

Other than that I am excited about tomorrow!

  • I second the wine.  That would be an exhausting experience. I'm glad it all turned out ok.

I'm doing well.  Just waiting for this baby to change positions.  He's still feet down and is kicking my bladder.

On a good note, Gabe has figured out a sleep schedule I can live with Smile

  • 30 weeks, Jar!  11 weeks is bad, too but at 30?  Jesus H. Christ, I couldn't possibly imagine.

Crap... you just gave everyone ONE more thing to worry about.

I feel bad for those two girls though. :( I third the wine proposition.

  • Oh and baby girl is head down, neener, neener.

I went to L&D for 6 contractions in 1 hour last week...it was uterine distress from her turning SO fast. My roids are better now, TG for small miracles!

  • Yeah, it was pretty bad, everyone was upset. You can hear between the exam rooms well enough.

Just curious how you knew this? That seems like a HUGE violation of HIPAA laws.

bwwwwaaa ha ha ha ha ha

  • We were all talking about how far along we are in the waiting room. No violation in the patient sharing their personal information.

And if the patient was not identified in any way any doctor can say, "I had 2 losses today." Not a H violation.

But I can hear the dopplar and the muffled conversation, the tones were enough that I knew who was where because I saw which exam rooms they went into.

  • OMGosh I totally read your original post wrong.  I thought that you meant that two different nurses couldn't find the heartbeat of your baby and your OB finally found it.  Either way - exhausting day.

You need to tell your baby girl to discuss this flipping stuff with my baby boy.

    Glad the roids are better.

and she also shared with you that they couldn't find the HB?!?! Hmmmmmm

Not quite. What are you getting at?

I heard what was going on in the exam rooms next to me, in the hallway etc...when something bad like that happens people usually are not quiet. I waited in that exam room for 2 hours except for the 2 times I went to pee and get some water. they kept asking me to wait and I did.

  • Umm, I'm well-versed in HIPAA, and I see no violation here.

It's not like her OB said, "Mrs. Jones, in the room next to you, lost her baby. She was 30 weeks."

A dr. can say, "We had 2 losses."

Do you cry for HIPAA if your ped says, "Yeah, I have had several patients come in this week with strep" or "Yours is the third kid I've seen today with chickenpox?"

  • Yeah tiny, I don't get her point...

HIPAA is a huge part of my job and my Moms, we have to do training on a regualr basis, so f'ing tiresome, lol.

  • I know! I hate having to renew every year. Basically, you just don't give out a patient's name, personal info, or room # when discussing their condition. It's kind of "duh." LOL

My mom is one of those idiots out there that HIPAA exists for, though. She CONSTANTLY tells me things like, "Oh, my goodness, so-and-so came into my office today," "One of the Hanson brothers brought his kid to me," or "I had a kid named (first AND last name) come in for shots today." She also looked up my DH's entire family's shot records in OSHA and gave me a detailed list of every vaccine everyone needed. She also uses the software to look up things like people's birthdays, addresses, etc.

Now THOSE are HIPAA violations. LOL
