Those are some awesome presents!! :-D
I got roses from DH and Charlie slept 13 hours last night and then took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. I consider that a gift.
I wish I got a card - at least "from" Charlie. I like saving things like that.

Me too, H didn't actually give me anything. He doesn't do cards, thinks they're a waste of money. I'm ok with not getting a gift (because I'm cheap), but I could have gone with a nice card from him or G. Or some kind of cheesy inexpensive gift. He gave me a massage tonight after G went to bed. It was nice but he complained the whole time and kept asking if he was done yet.
I have to be honest, I love my H but he sucked at Mother's Day. I feel like he was cranky and kind of a dlck all day. Not only that but I lost half of my Mother's day because my IL's were here this morning so I had to wait for them to leave.
I told him Father's Day is cancelled.

Aww thank you! She loved the swing, I think we might "have" to go get one now because she was laughing the whole time she was in it!!

She looks like she's having a ball! That might just be a worth while investment.

I'm with your DHs and totally against cards! I feel like they are so impersonal. I get especially annoyed when I get them and the card-giver has just underlined certain words and then signed the bottom.
If I have to give a card I always buy the $.99 ones. But I usually just use a notecard and write in it myself.
My DH did a good job.
) I came home yesterday to find a dozen roses, a cupcake and a really sweet card.
) Then today There was a "Thanks Mom for the Gift of Life" silk rose waiting for me on the "breastfeeding table" that he got at church.
I didn't really get to see DH all weekend though so that kind of sucked.... but next weekend my dad is taking everyone out to breakfast to celebrate MD.

Happy Mother's day to the best bunch of ladies ever!
My day was pretty much a typical day for me. DH had to work all weekend, so yesterday I got to get a new ring sling and diapers for my gifts. Today, I hung out with Robert, then Robert took me out for a cupcake and some coffee at an awesome cupcake shop. Then when DH got off work they took me out for Mexican food. It was a nice day since I got to spend all day with my sweet little boy, but I really wanted to be able to sleep in and be pampered all day!!!
Oh, and I got some, too
I got a walk with DS and DH, and an afternoon nap in bed with DS. DH also sort of made dinner last night, but that's not really out of the ordinary (we usually share cooking). DH was SO busy with work this weekend. So he honestly didn't really do anything. DS didn't really help out, either...it was a worse than average two overnights Saturday and Sunday (waking 3ish times). And I did the feedings because DH was seriously so stressed with work. Oh well.
But, the walk was REALLY awesome. The weather was perfect and everything was blooming and it was nice "exercise" (not cardio really but great to get moving.) It was a pretty long walk, too, like 2 hrs or so. The nap was also very sweet and much needed.
I could have written this. We had Annabelle's baptism on Saturday and so we had tons of family staying with us - so I hosted a nice little Mother's Day brunch for everyone yesterday morning. I got potted flowers from my mom and my aunts, a cute gift from my sister, and lots of cards....but nothing at all from DH or "from" DD. I really wanted something from her to keep in a scrapbook and I was really sad that DH didn't acknowledge it. But I'm grateful that I at least got to see so much of my family that morning.
I got an Iris from my daughter in preschool and a mug and a cute little book from my daughter in 1st grade. When you have kids in elementary school or preschool you always get a Mother's Day present! I got a card from my mom, sister, stepmom and stepgrandparents. Nothing from DH but that's okay - I told him not to buy me anything.
I'm always late posting these days but...
I was surprised with a mani and pedi at a local spa with my mom and my SO's mom. It was 2 hours of heavenly bliss that even included some chocolate truffles.
Then it was back to the house to hang out with SO's mom for a bit. She bought some shoes for me and looked after L while I edited some pics for Seniors that I took earlier in the week.
Then I had dinner with lots of my family. My mom, grandma, aunt's and ect were all there. I printed a photo of our 4 generations to give to my mom and gma that had a nice mother's day poem and grandma poem on the bottom. The rest of the evening I just hung out with Lily bug. I'd say it was a great day.

I got a white gold necklace charm, earrings with DS's birthstone, breakfast cooked for me & a #1 mama mug w/ DS's pic on it that I asked for, but thought I wasn't getting. Here's a c&p of my post about it from another board:
Yay, I got my mug
I had vented the other day that I told DH that I wanted a #1 mom mug for Mother's day to replace my old favorite mug that I broke & he made a snide remark about me having to "work my way up" to being a #1 mom (jerk!).
Well, today, I got earrings & a charm for a necklace brought to me while I was waking up...then I went out to the dining room where MH had prepared breakfast & surprise, there was my mug- complete w/ a photo of DS on it. I cried like an idiot, lol. I was so happy to get my mug! That's all I really wanted
I hope everyone else has a happy mother's day!My first Mother's Day was great! : ) DH got me a sewing machine, roses and a sweet card, and LO got me a Coach wristlet and a cute card. DH let me sleep in and then made breakfast, then we had dinner with all the family. But, the best gift of all was a card that LO "made" at daycare - he smeared paint on the card they wrote out, and they hid it with his bottles so I didn't see it until we got home Friday afternoon. It just melted my heart, I love little things like that!
I got a card from DH and one from H. DH made me breakfast, took H all day so I could get some stuff done around the house. He let me order a birthstone necklace that I wanted from Etsy (he never would have been able to figure out what to order on his own) and he got me a magnet that has a pic of me holding H for the first time with a nice note at the bottom. It totally made me cry... so did both of their cards.
I was pretty shocked because DH usually is terrible at the gift giving or making any sort of occasion special but he did a good job for Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely Dec. mamas!
