We went with ViaCord. I don't have pros or cons about them - its just another layer of insurance that's giving us a peace in mind so that's why we did it. We have a healthy family history so hopefully we won't have to use it but I feel better that its there if we every had to use it. If you do go with ViaCord, do a search on google for coupons. I was able to get a $200 discount.

We looked into it, but since Charlie came a little early, we never acted on it.
I agree, it's a level of security and insurance. But I guess we kinda thought that "what will be, will be." DH is also a devout Catholic and he felt a bit weird by it as well. But personally, I have nothing against the idea.
We were also a little squeamish about the expense, even with discounts, etc.

We went with Viacord. Compare from their website & then call with any questions. We asked alot of questions. I wish I still had that list, I'd give it to you. Viacord was not pressuring at all. The call was very educational. We had mentioned to Viacord that we were choosing between them and another company, I can't remember if it was CBR. In the end it came down to us being more comfortable with Viacord.
They send you the package ahead of time, you bring it with you to hospital & the nurses take it from there. It was very easy.
