I took my MIL to buy flowers this afternoon as DH just didn't not have the energy to do so after last night. When I arrived, her step son called and as she was talking to him, she mentione to him that I was there and there was another baby on the way in the family. She said DH's cousin's name, but I thought she meant his niece, who isn't due until September. Nope. Turns out his cousin, who lives right here in town, is pregnant. Apparently, she could have the baby any day. DH just saw her at Easter and didn't have a clue. My MIL just found out last week.

Re: Talk about keeping a secret!
Is there any reason they hadn't shared the news with your husband's family?
It seems odd to me, but maybe they had a reason or she just assumed someone else had told you all by now?
Did you say you had just seen her at Easter? Did she look pregnant?
I agree, it is odd..
But, everyone is different. I have a friend who had several miscarriages and NEVER told her family. I couldn't imagine not letting my mom or sister in-law know. Not because I would necessarily need them for support, but because so often those are the people that ask you over and over again if you are going to start a family any time soon.
heck ya she kept the secret.
None of my neighbors knew up until about 2 weeks ago...lol. I thought it would be funny to just show up with a baby one day.
Since I've been on BR for 15 weeks no one saw me really showing prior. Then I think one of them saw me coming in from a Dr's appt two weeks ago. Then last week DH was out watering the flowers so I decided to sit in my lawn chair and the lady next door comes over and says "I heard you were pregnant" haha. I said "I guess the cats out of the bag"....yep the nosey guy from down the street that saw me two weeks ago spread the news. LOL. I told her I thought it was going to be funny to just appear with a LO all of a sudden. ha

My neighbors just found out I was pregnant in the last few weeks too. When it was colder I was always bundled up and they just didn't notice. The day DH and a I were in the driveway painting a dresser and changing table my next door neighbor came home and saw us and said "Oh, you're having a baby!".
I had a cousin who never told anyone she was pregnant. She had two older children on a girl a couple years younger then me and a son who is five years younger (she split up with their father). She had an online fling and had another boy and no one knew until a month before he arrived....he was 13 years younger then me (she never told the man she was pregnant or had his child). And then she got remarried about 4 years ago and we didnt know she was pregnant with her 3rd son until 2 weeks after his birth! And then she had a little girl a year later but we found out about her a couple months before her arrival.
Some people are obviously really good at keeping a secret. We saw her several times during her pregnancy and never would have guessed she was pregnant....although she is on the obesse side so she never really shows.
I guess (to me) there is a huge difference in not telling your neighbor and not telling your family members.
My husband told our neighbor who then told me he hadn't noticed. I was slightly put off at first b/c I thought 'wow, did he think I was just this fat always'? until I realized that whenever I saw him I had my car between the two of us so he never saw my belly. Apparently my face hasn't gotten super fat.. Or at least that is how I am choosing to see it.
