Background info if you care to read, or shoot straight to the bottom for the actual question:
Hi all! Not ready to join your ranks yet, but by golly we are trying. (Have done 2 cycles of IUI with Shady Grove so far - 1st cycle = chemical pregnancy [lost between 7 and 14 DPO], 2nd cycle = BFN)
I know it's early in the game, but I love the idea of using this effort to revamp my overall health habits. I'm using Pulling Down the Moon's book "Fully Fertile" as a workbook and got some nutrition/exercise advice from them.
So, what the heck, why not acupuncture too? I've always wanted to try it out.
Anybody here have recommendations for a good acupuncturist within reasonable distance from Herdnon/Reston/Ashburn/Sterling/Leesburg? TIA!
Re: Good fertility acupuncturist in Herndon area?
i have heard wonderful things about dr. lee at www.yourdrlee.com
good luck with your journey! hypnosis has also been shown to be beneficial to the fertility process. you might consider seeing a hypnotherapist or maybe a HypnoBirthing fertility consultant (find online at www.hypnobirthing.com, there are three in our area: alexandria, haymarket and leesburg) in tandem with your other methods.
NovaBrideNS used one I think, but I'm not sure how often she's on the boards these days. You might try paging her?
Good luck to you!! We did 3 IUIs at SG and got lucky on the 3rd cycle (which based on DH's numbers I had completely written off.) Maybe the 3rd time is the charm for you as well!
Hi ladies! Actually, I didn't go to acupuncture for fertility stuff, but it turned out that the lady I was seeing for a different issue happens to specialize in fertility acupuncture. She's not near Herndon though - she's in McLean. If that's not too far, her website is: www.4acupuncture.info. It might be worth calling her to see if she knows of someone closer to Herndon - she has a pretty impressive network. I can't say enough good things about the practice. Acupuncture has changed my life.
Thanks, all! I'll check out your recommendations and get started. Thanks for the encouragement!
South Riding Acupuncture is a really great practice. Rachal is awesome!
Lurker coming out...
I used Sports Edge Accupuncture in Herndon during my successful IVF cycle: https://sportsedgeacupuncture.com/
I was recommended to him through my RE. I loved it! Good luck!
I went through 4 cycles of IUI at Shady Grove (all negative). I began accupuncture at Khalsa Integrative Medicine In Reston (just across street from Reston Town Center). I did about 3 months of accupuncture while also doing IUI's. Took a break from IUI to prepare for IVF and began chinese herbal supplements given by Dr. Khalsa (he is also a Chinese Medical Doctor as well as licenses accupuncturist). The first month I began the herbs I became pregnant.
