"Happy Mother's Day" from DH.Period. He is SO lame! At least I have DS, everytime I look at him it makes me happy. Ive decided Im going to have DS make something for me,even if I have to help him Embarrassed

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

  • Awww...Damn DH's!  I got a VERY sweet card and some flowers, but he cut them from our garden...That doesn't count, does it?!  ;)  I feel like you do...just happy to enjoy DS today!

  • DH started off the day in a pissy mood, but he improved when I told him he was going to ruin my day. I got a very sweet card from him and one from DD, and I got the necklace I wanted from Vintage Pearl. Also, my mom gave me a card and a monogrammed toiletry travel bag.

I've really just enjoyed my day with the family. I don't need gifts...just quality time with them.

  • I woke up with DS this morning while my DH slept in until about 10 min till he was supposed to be at work. No Happy Mother's Day or anything, he just left. Then he called from work, but only to remind me to be ready to go out to lunch with his mother and father. I reminded him then to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. Then he gets home and no mention of anything and we go eat, when he tells his mother happy mother's day he doesn't say anthing to me. Then we get home and DS fell asleep in the car so both DH and DS are sleeping!

It kinda sucks that this is the second year in a row and nothing was said or even a hug and kiss. BTW the only reason we took DH's mother out was becasue I reminded him to do something for her.

  • We are having a better time than last year even though LO is a bit below the weather...no too bad because she slept in enough for me to shower and we have snuggled together for two long naps today. As for getting something from your LO, I would go ahead and do it yourself. What do you think single mamas do for homemade mom cards? ;-) I helped LO make one for me yesterday and I put it on the nightstand so that I would wake up to it. Cheesy but it made me smile. She also went to the store with me today and I held up two novels I had wanted and let her pick which one she wanted to give me.

Last year, LO managed to get her dirty diaper off and roll (both of which shocked me) while she was on my bed. Ex was asleep still (it was 2 pm by then) but he oh so kindly got up and...(I bet you ladies think he did laundry but nooo...)...and moved his lazy bum to the couch so I could do the laundry. His mother called him at 9 pm to see if he wished me happy mother's day, at which point I was already asleep. So I got a mumbled Happy mother's day while I was getting ready for work the next morning.

Like I said, this year was much better than last year.

That's too bad!  I would have to say something to your DH.  DH got me a card from DD & a gift card to VS. I told him a few weeks ago I needed to buy all new panties! :-)  Last night he said "I" didn't get you anything but DD did.  We also went to brunch with my mom & then my mom & I went to the movies!  So far I've had a great day.

My mom also got me a card & flowers :-) I got her a card, brunch & the movies :-)

  • Mine has been fun so far.  I slept in until 8:30, then played with Liam until he went down for a nap.  Then we got ready and when he woke up we got some fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, mac & cheese, etc. and went to the park for a picnic with my parents.  Then, when we got home, I sat out and got some sun and read a magazine and DH gave me a sweet card.  We just ate dinner and, later, DH and I are going to make chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite!).  A nice, low-key, relaxing day!

  • Well it was a nice day full of sleeping in til 8, spending time w/ kids, brunch (with surprisingly well behaved kids given how long we had to wait for our food... who knew stacking &restacking the jelly & butter things could entertain for like 30 min?), time reading & surfing the net on the porch by myself....and then it all fell apart when MH came upstairs to tell me he was going to take a bath b/c he was so tired and cranky...and I chuckled. Which led to semi-stomping out, a small fight and I think Mother's Day is officially over.

Maybe I shouldn't have laughed, but today he ran a few errands by himself (granted not for him- to pick up diapers & get some food for our dinner), cleaned like 50% of our house (which is tiring for sure!), 3 loads of laundry (which I'm about to fold) & took care of the kids in the AM for an hour before I got up & helped, and then took them to the mall for about an hour and a half after brunch so I could have some quiet time. This is the day of most SAHM's except for the fact that I was around to help out for much of it  (I'm not one so I'm also in awe & would be tired & cranky after this day as well) so I couldn't help but chuckle at his tiredness. Oh well, I guess I ruined my own MD. Glass of wine is in order.

  • Uch....DH has a bad sprained shoulder and is pretty much out of commission.  I got up with DS because DH had to go to the dr., cooked two meals, did laundry, cleaned and prepped for the week ahead. We went to my mothers and I had a few drinks because I was about to lose my shizle.  I did get flowers, cards, chocolate and trashy magazines from DH.
  • My kids were so great today.  The older ones made me breakfast in bed, the little one was perfect in church, I got as nice lunch party that lasted 10 hours:) My husband was great and assigned all the older kids as butlers to the moms so we didn't even have to get up and pitcher after pitcher of margaritas! I also got some great gifts.

Watching my husband wait on his mom hand and foot made me hope with all my heart that my sons end up being half as good to me as he is to his mom.

  • I actually had a pretty great day. DH had to leave this afternoon for a business trip, but he let me sleep in until 9 am and then took DD and I out for a nice breakfast before he left. He also got me a nice card from DD (that he had her color on, LOL) and lots of chocolate since I've been craving it lately.

Then for lunch, DD and I met my parents at Olive Garden. We came home, DD napped for 2.5 hours, and then we played outside until bathtime since it was so beautiful out.

It was a nice, laid back day.

Really Good! I told DH no gifts b/c we just bought and Acadia which I wanted and have the sals tax to pay this month so I didn't wnat him to spend money on a gift. He bought me flowers and a card from LO. I went to the Zoo with my Mom Dad and Grandma, while DH took his mom  to Lunch. Then I met my brother and his wife for lunch. She is a mommy to be.  LO took a 3 hour nap!!!! Ended it off with playing outside at IL's house and dinner. Such a great day

  • I had a pretty great day.

I slept until 11:30!  (I should add that I was up for 4 hours off and on with DD2 because she is teething, and I'm fighting a chest cold.) DH had taken the girls to see his mom this morning so that I could get some much needed sleep.

They came back and game me my gifts. The girls made cute cards and pics at DC.

Then my mom and I went shopping all afternoon.  I got a new summer wardrobe, 3 pair of shoes, 2 purses, 2 belts, and a super cute scarf.

Now DH is off to Pei Wei to get me take out.  What a great day.

  • dh didnt say anything to me all day about mothers day.  we went to his family's monthly dinner and i finally said somethiing to him and he made some lame excuse.  then took me out to dinner and we walked around target where he bought me a card (i asked him what the point of buying the card was since at that point i could have just read it and put it back) and a set of pjs.

pretty lame just like last year........oh ya i also didnt get to sleep in and ds kept waking up all night last night wanting to nurse since he didnt hardly eat yesterday.

I have had a great day. DH got up with DS and let me sleep in. Then he brought up breakfast in bed and a card and gift from DS (I got two houseplants: a bamboo and a money tree). We spent a few hours relaxing and I video-chatted with my mom. Then DH took DS out to visit MIL, and I had the house to myself for four hours!! I played video games the entire time, hehe. DH and DS came home and I spent time with DS while DH picked up sushi from my favorite restaurant. DS has been very cranky and difficult lately (he's getting 4 new teeth), but he was wonderful today!! It has been an awesome day. :)
