Anyone have the Step2 Play Up Sand & Water Table

It's the one w/the legs that you can raise up. Anyone have this? Does your older LO like it and still use it?

I'm considering getting one for DD but I dont want her to outgrow it size wise right away.  Thoughts? I figured if it had legs you could raise, I could get some more years out of it.

  • We got this table when my son was 2 years old. He's now almost 4 and it's still sitting on our patio, but it was rarely used. :(

  • I have it, just got it.

First, it was too cold to take it outside, but the kids played with it for hours every day in our living room!  They used trains/cars etc.

Then I took it outside and they both love it.  My older daughter is 4 and has always loved her water table (which broke at the end of last summer).  My 1.5 and 4 year old play with it every day (well, when we go outside... we have had a lot of rain)!

I love it and I fully intend on bringing it in, in the winter, if the kids play with it like they did before I took it outside!

BTW I chose it because it has drains and because it seems like most of the water tables have parts and pieces.  I don't need funnels and little toys getting broken or lost, then the whole table is sort of useless IMO.

  • I posted above, but we just started using it over the weekend. So far both of them love it, and I really can see them using it a lot this summer. Next summer, after it's been put away for the winter, it'll probably be like a new toy for them!

We already have it on the second level (I think there are only two, right?); the first would be too low for DD1. Your DD will probably need it on the higher level too, so it won't really grow with her anymore. I guess that's more if you start using it with young toddlers; I know the lower level would be better for DD2 but she can actually reach the higher level just fine.

  • This is the best sand and water table on the market, IMO, and my guys played with it constantly from 1-4 years old. Now less so, but we still have it out.
