Anyone have the mirena?

I got mine about 6 weeks ago....and I hadnt had sex until last night. I hurt afterwards...like cramping mostly. I was even bleeding a little bit. But that may of just been some spotting. I just had my first AF at the begining of the week.

Then i started to freak out....I checked the strings like a million times since then. Im not too sure if they are in the right place or not.Or if they even feel right.

I have no idea why but Im wondering if this thing is really that trust worthy..I can not get pregnant again. Not for at least til I finish my RN. That and my body cant handle another pregnancy right now. I was on strict bedrest the entire pregnancy with K.

Im so paranoid now.  Now im scared to have sex bc I dont want to get pregnant. Which is why I got this stupid thing in the first place bc I cant ever remember a pill and im allergic to latex. So the Mirena seemed like the best idea at the time.

Why am I losing it over this stupid IUD?

    I am in the same boat. I am scared to have sex or anything sex related! I don't even want his goo near me! I have an IUD but we still use a condom as we are both scared of getting pg again. I have been spotting since I got my IUD 3 weeks ago. I am hoping it goes away soon. I swear it's like AF is trying to come and it just won't! I notice when I increase activity by evening I am spotting. It's odd, I thought about calling my dr to ask. I don't know if it is normal. LO is 3 months and I have been bleeding/spotting since I had him! I have only have a 1 week break.

    I'm getting my Mirena in a week.  Sex is freaking me out too... which is why we haven't had any yet.  I really really can't get pg again either and funnily enough its because I just got my final acceptance into Nursing school for the fall as well.  Ugh I have a friend who did end up pg with an IUD which makes me even more scared.

    I have it!  I got it put in at my 6 week check up.  I love it!  I bled for a few days, stopped and then 2 week later bled again for 4 days---super super light-like the junior tampons were too much absorbency.  Mirena is like 99.9% effective and unlike rubbers and pills- no user error.  DOn't worry about checking the strings-gyn's don't even recommend checking them every month anymore.  Eventually the strings will soften and curl up behind the cervix so you wont be able to feel them.  Just sit back and enjoy this fabulous invention!
