Trouble TTC

Lap recovery

After IUI #1 failed we decided on a lap to check things out.  I did have scar tissue that the dr removed and now he said we can try naturally for a few months.  If no success after a few months then we can try IUI again.  I need to ask him at my follow up apt about the 'nothing in the vagina for 10 days' instructions given at discharge.  Looks like we would miss our window this month unless he gives me the ok.

I had my lap done friday and I really thought I would be able to return to work on monday but I am starting to think I might need monday off as well.  I am a visiting nurse so I am out and about during the day...not necessarily strenuous work but I already know of 2 patients I will need help with because they are bed bound. I can't do any lifting over 5 lbs per discharge inst for 2 weeks so I will have to get help if I need to assist a patient.  Aside from that, I am wondering if I will even be able to get in and out of the car comfortably.

How was your lap recovery?

And I just want to add that this board has been a great help during my IF journey.  I don't post much but I am grateful for this community :)

I had 5 days off before going back to work and definately needed them.  I had to miss a cycle for my lap too.  It sucked but you want to make sure to give your body time to heal.  Good luck!

I just had my lap/hysteroscopy done Wednesday (May 4) and there's no way I could have gone to work today. I feel okay, but I just can't stand up straight or walk for any length of time. I'm a teacher and I'm not going back to work until Tuesday. Granted, my surgeon had to remove "extensive endometriosis" (in his words). I think recovery is dependent on what is done during your surgery.

  • That sucks about missing this cycle. I had my lap on April 1st on a Friday, and I did not go back to work until the following Wednesday. I was pretty sore over the weekend post-lap, and I was still pretty tired the week following, and not being able to lift anything kind of put a damper on a lot of my work. I was also told not to drive for a little bit. I went back to commuting my bicycle to work though after a week, and quickly improved from there on out. Though I felt really out of shape from not doing anything physical for a week or so.

I was on BCP the cycle before my lap, so stopping it the day of meant that I got to try the same cycle as  my lap, especially since I Oed late that cycle. Unfortunately it did not result in a BPF.

I had my lap on a Friday and went back to work on Monday.  However, I was in a lot of pain and if I could have taken more time off, it would have been better.  But, I do sit at a desk and could take pain meds while at work.  So, that is what I did.

I was told not to TTC at all the cycle I had my lap.  So, we didn't.

I had my lap done on a Tuesday, and I went back to work on Monday.  I didn't feel like I could stand for any length of time until Friday, and it was Saturday before I actually moved around a bunch.

I also couldn't have imagined having sex after my lap.  That's an awful lot of jostling around for being cut open.  I would probably let this cycle go.

    Good luck!
