1. "Do you know who the father is?" HaHa! Ummm? I do not think my buzzer is a human!
2. Guilty! For 8 years I have been in their family. As the years go on, I do not gain clout ! I still only get I love you when it involves Dh or alcohol...pout
I don't even think DH gets I Love You from his parents... but we know it's implied.... My parents its again often unsaid, but more often then his side.... and I would say more to me (the only girl) then to DH or my brothers.. I want to say it all the time to LO... even when they are huge!! lol.... It was said all the time when I was young, kind of waved since becoming an adult I guess...
I haven't run across too many rude people, so I can't think of any "fighting words" regarding pregnancy- I'm sure I'll be exposed to some good ones though eventually.
DH's family says "I love you" all the time- his dad kisses me on the cheek every time we see them too (which isn't all that often since we are 5 states away). I'm the one with the family that never says it. I'm pretty sure the first time my dad said it in my adult life was on my wedding day. We're not a super affectionate family, I think it's more implied than anything.
That being said, I plan on saying it to LO as long as I can speak or write.

I don't have any fighting words that I can think of right now... hmmm....
My FIL says I love you when we're leaving to come home. He's super sentimental and so happy that DH found someone he loves. He gets a little misty about it!
TTC since 10/07
11 medicated cycles
including...
4 IUIs*5 IVFs*1 FET
2 chemical pregnancies*missed m/c @8w 9/09*missed (twin) m/c @8w 5/10
Laparoscopic myomectomy 8/10
Chromosomal translocation of #2 now requires ICSI and PGD
when i think of "fighting words" i think about the movie "knocked up" when she's giving birth naturally and the nurse tells her to be a little quieter because she might scare the other ladies!!
i get "I love you" all the time from the IL's - even before we were married...especially his dad because he's such a warm caring person - he's just one of those guys that hugs everyone
