I have had the name Nolan picked out for a boy for years the found out that we are having a girl. What about Nolan for a girl's name?? Or other boy names for girls like Ryan? What do you ladies think???
I don't like either for a girl. Sorry. MH is named Kelly and he HATES his name since it's most commonly used for a girl. Please think of that before naming her.

I don't like Nolan for a girl, but I love Ryan for a girl. A friend from HS had a GF named Ryan and it was the first I had heard of it being used that way, but I loved it.
I told DH how I liked the idea, but BIL is named Ryan - so that is out, but I'm having another boy anyways.
I'm not a fan of boy names for girls. In fact, I kinda hate them. I think both Nolan and Ryan are fine boy names (especially if they're going to play baseball in Texas) but I wouldn't do that to a girl. I like PP's suggestion of Noelle or something of the sort. Nolan also wouldn't make a bad MN, IMO.

I'm not a fan of boys' names for girls. I think it causes a lot of problems. My friend's mom was named "Randy" and she legally changed it, because she has so many issues with having a man's name, including issues with selective service (the draft), school placement, etc.
Saving money while raising more kids than you bargained for!
I typically like unisex names, but I'm not liking Nolan. Ryan, on the other hand, I like. I know a little girl named Ryan, her name is spelled Ryonn. I don't know about the weird spelling, but she's a great little girl!

There's a few girls out here with the name Ryan, and the actress Ryan Starr, so on so on. I think it's cool.
My first daughter is named Asa and outside of baby naming boards on the internet, no one in the real world had seemed to care that it's a boys name or treat her any differently because of it or make fun of her, nor has she had her life ruined.

Ryan is fine for a girl.
I don't like Nolan for a boy, and there's no way I could ever see it as a girl's name.
If you like it that much, what about as a middle name? Nolan would work great for a middle name, since middle names don't have to be gender-specific.

I like boys names for girls. We considered Ryan for our LO, but ended up taking it off the list. We are considering another traditional boy name now.
I have never heard of a girl named Nolan and think it is pretty masculine.

my DD has a little friend named Nolyn...
at first I was like HUH!? but it has grown on me..maybe the spelling makes a difference..
I agree neither am I. But I do like the idea of using Nolan as a middle name possibly.
I know how feel about wanting to use name though. I've had my heart set on Elizabeth for as long as I can remember. Well I'm having my second boy lol.
