I've been told by different people that this is "wrong." Do you do any of this?
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc?
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course)
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so?
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower?
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay?
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better?
Re: Another poll.. are you a "bad mom"?
Two completely different offices. The one is much further away from our soon to be new home, so I found one closer. I've since brought him to both based off appointment times. There are pros and cons to both offices, but I feel like I should pick one to keep his medical records together!
And if I answered yes to those questions, does that make me a failure at motherhood? haha
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) No. DD goes in first.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? No. It gets chucked, though she doesn't take bottles often anyway.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? We don't have TV, so no. As a newborn, when it was just DD and I, I put her in the bouncy seat and brought her in the bathroom while I showered.
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? No. Nothing before six months.
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? I don't know how to answer this. Why would two be "bad?" We don't really have pedi's here, unless your child is really sick. DD sees my doctor.
ETA: Just read your Pedi note. I guess you should pick one but it's not the worst thing in the world to see how you like them both before choosing.
I've been told by different people that this is "wrong." Do you do any of this?
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? Yeah because usually there is more to come.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) Absolutely not, but we live on a busy street and a lot of people walk on our sidewalk.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? We don't bottle feed, so I can't answer this. But if we were formula, I wouldn't feed it to her after an hour. If it were breastmilk then I would.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? I put DD in the exersaucer right outside the bathroom, but I wouldn't side eye someone who puts them in front of the TV while they shower
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? Again I wouldn't side eye this, but we didn't just because DD is tiny and needs calories from BM
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? I've never heard of this - how would insurance allow that?
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? - If I hear him poop, I usually change him right away b/c I don't want it going through is clothes (which happens a lot)
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) - Nope, I do this sometimes, especially if he's sleeping
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? - I probably wouldn't
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? - I do this every day!
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? - My pedi didn't say anything about this
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? - We have 4 docs in our pedi practice and I've seen them all; still deciding which one we like the best

I've been told by different people that this is "wrong." Do you do any of this?
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc?
- I usually give him an extra minute or two to make sure he's finished, then I change him immediately. One night, he pooped a small one while sleeping, and, after it dried, it was more difficult to remove. He usually goes 1-3 times a day.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course)
- No
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so?
- No
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower?
- No, he's only seen tv for a few moments at a time, usually while lying on his mat in the living room. We're waiting to let him watch tv.
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay?
- No. The pedi gave the "ok" but we're waiting til 6 mo.
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better?
- No. We have an office that has 3-4 Pedi's, but we usually see the same one.
I do 4 not neccsarly watching tv but sometimes
I also do 2 but the car is locked and in the garage with the back hatch open, no way someone could get him b4 i get back from a trip inside
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? I usually wait 5 minutes or so to be sure she is done, but never any more then that. (I am way more anal about it with a girl then I was with DS.)
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) Never. We bring her in first, then the groceries.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? No.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? I leave her in the bouncer or swing, but we don't let her watch tv.
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? Our pedi has approved it, but we don't really do it yet. Our pedi says she isn't the best judge of when LO is ready; it depends on the signs.
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? I wouldn't recommend it, but there is nothing "wrong" with it.

I guess I'm a bad mom. I've done all of these except #6. I've put DS in his bouncy seat with PBS on sometimes while I get dressed in the morning and finish packing the car if he woke up earlier than usual. And I might be "off the hook" with #5. At our last appointment, our pedi said we can probably start cereal at 5 months. DS had oatmeal for the first time this morning (he's 5 months today) even though we haven't been to our 5 month appointment yet. We couldn't get a Saturday appointment until next week.
ETA: I haven't ever left DS in the car.
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? Yes, but usually so it's so she can finish pooping. Otherwise she poops again the second I change her.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) I bring her carseat in first. Then let her sleep in the living room while I unpack groceries.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? I EBF and only thaw a bottle if she will use it right away. If she doesn't finish it, I toss it.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? Absolutely
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? No. We will wait on this one
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? Nope. I want all her records in one place.
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? Yes, but I dont' let him sit in a poopy diaper for a real long time. Maybe 5 mins however long it takes me to finish up what I was doing.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) Yes. I have a pretty long drive way. Takes me less than 2 mins to carry the groceries in and most of the time DD will stay in the car with him.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? No.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? Yes
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? NO!!!
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? I love my Pedi so this is not an issue. I have seen the other Pedi when mine was out of the office.
hahh nope. She's just a heavy sleeper. Getting her seat out of my car is a PITA, I usually bang her into the seat and inevitably she ends up face first in the sun. We live on a busy street, lots of people pass, our driveway is very steep...I have too many worst case scenarios that fly through my head to leave her.
My driveway is a mile long, and the closest neighbor is probably another 3 miles away. I could probably let him sleep in the car overnight and not worry about it. He such a weird sleeper though, he can sleep past the dogs barking, and me vacuuming, but the second I touch his carseat hes wide awake.
If we lived in the area I grew up in I'd have no issue with it. It's just too scary here...it's a good neighborhood but you never know.
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? Yes I do this. Someone is always pooping around here.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) If my 2 year old and LO fall asleep in the car I have to carry them both up so someone sits and waits. But when we get groceries I always bring a kid in first, then the other, THEN the groceries.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? N/A
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? I'd never get clean if he wasn't in his swing. But I don't put him in front of the TV.
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? Having one child with allergies, I usually wait closer to 6 months for solids. (Which is after my pedi gives me the okay to strat.)
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? I found the perfect pedi when my first was born so thankfully this is not an issue here. I suppose if I was trying find a new pediatrician I wouldn't have a problem with it. But I'd want pretty consistent care for them so I'd rather have them in one place.
This! If parking outdoors, however, I'd never leave DD in the car alone.
I'm guilty of 1, 2, and 4.
1-Let LO sit in their poopy diaper while you finish eating, folding laundry, etc? Yep. But like everyone else says it takes a while for her to get it out.
2-Leave LO sleeping in the car while bringing groceries in? (when its not too hot of cold of course) No. I bring her in, sat her down (leave her in the car seat) then bring the groceries in.
3-Feed LO a bottle thats been out for 2 hours or so? yep. 2 hours is my limit.
4-Leave LO in their swing/seat/whatever works for you, watching TV while you shower? Occasionally. Mostly in the mornings while I get ready for a few minutes.
5-Give your LO cereal with a spoon before the pedi says its okay? yep
6-Have 2 different Pedi's you bring LO to, cause you cant decide which one is better? No. I love my pedi, so no need for this.
