Pregnancy symptoms you didn't expect...?

This could be considered TMI, but I think that's kind of gone out the window here so here goes.... this morning I woke up with swollen lady parts.  I remember that happening last time, but I don't think this early.  It's a common pregnancy symptom due to increased blood flow to the lower extremities, but still.... not fun!

I came across this article while researching the topic https://www.parents.com/pregnancy/my-body/changing/6-strange-pregnancy-symptoms/

So, what unexpected symptoms positive or negative have you experienced?

  • Honestly, I know that fatigue hits pregnant women. No surprise, but when I was pregnant with my boys, I was NEVER this tired. I just want to sleep. It must be extra work to make this lil girl!! (Usually, I'm ok with taking a nap) Wink

  • The drooling! I tried to floss my teeth and it was a total mess, same with my pillow every morning!

  • Bad weird body odor.  Out of control.  Someone told me it's because my liver is working for 2.

  • Sneezing.  I sneeze more now than I have my entire life.  I carry a box of tissues around everywhere I go.

  • Not that it's a symptom but I could definitely go without peeing my pants for sneezes and coughs.

  • Where do I begin...? For me, I did not expect my pelvis and tailbone throbbing all day. I have a few new beauty marks, and I want to eat my body soap! Don't you worry I know the term is pica! I will not actually eat it! But...I really want to!!!!

  • My feet being ticklish!  I haven't been ticklish since graduating from high school, so it's definitely weird for me.
  • Yep, the swollen lady parts is called hamburger crotch, I remember a lot of people talking about it in 1st tri so I expected it and I definitely got it, yuck!

  • Skin rash in many joints or folds. I had a rash at the end of last pregnancy but it was totally different. It's like my skin has a memory from last time and jumped right back into it.

  • Heartburn!!! Not that I didn't know it was a symptom, but I didn't know that I had never had true heartburn before in my life. I had always thought that a little bit of acid reflux was all there was to heartburn. Now that I have that pressure/actual stop me in my tracks and whimper burn going on (literally right now... and most days), I have a whole new respect/fear of the word!

I had a good idea of what to expect, but nobody warned me about the excess of boogers.  It's totally ridiculous.
  • A UTI it took five months to kick. :(  (And they're pretty rare for me outside of pregnancy.)

I've also been dealing with tailbone pain since 14 weeks.  Just found a chiropractor trained in Webster technique who's really helping, though.

Yikes!  I've heard of "blue twinkies", but I can't even imagine that one.... hopefully I don't find out for myself what that is... Indifferent
