Pediatrician in Dayton area?

Hey ladies. Ive been precrastinating way too long and its time for me to find a pediatrician around the Dayton area. I will be delivering at the Kettering hospital and it would be great to find a doctor I like in Kettering, Dayton, or Beavercreek area. Any recommendations? I will also be asking my obgyn for recs on Tuesday.

  • We go to Dr. Robert Myers and we like him a lot. His office is located at the corner of Yankee and Lyons in the Centerville/Miamisburg area. (I can never tell exactly what city/town I'm in over there.) He is affliliated with Soutthview hospital, which is in the Kettering Health Network. If you call the office, they will be able to schedule you with an appointment to talk with him.

    Hope that helps!

  • Do not use Ohio Pediatrics in Kettering. They are on Delco Park by the Kroger on Dorothy Lane and we have had an awful experience with them. They have two fantastic nurse practitioners and a whole slew of bad doctors. Even just trying to transfer DD's records has been a huge PITA. We have had issue after issue and I finally gave up and we are going to Dr. Kamdar over on Far Hills. I have heard great things about her and her office staff was wonderful on the phone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  • We go to Primed in Beavercreek and have had a really great experience.  I have also heard great things about Primed in Centerville.  At least at the Beavercreek office they are always on time for appointments, even for sick visits I think the longest I ever waited was 30 minutes on a Saturday when they squeezed us in.  We switched from a family doctor and have never looked back.

Trust me on this one. A lot of people I know have now switched out of there. One of my co-workers refers to their office as "Little Practice of Horrors." GL on your search!

  • I can't recommend Cornerstone Pediatrics in Springboro (by the Y) enough.  Every doctor and nurse we have seen has been fabulous.  I also delivered at Kettering.

Our personal pediatrician at Cornerstone is Dr. Ellis.

  • Thanks everyone!

  • We also go to Ohio Pedi in Kettering.  I really like the nurse practioners, but have yet to see a dr there that I love.  Honestly, from talking to all of the parents of my childcare children, all of their pedis have given some crazy advice or done some annoying things too.

So, I guess I'm not really recommending my pedi, but I am recommending that wherever you go, make sure you keep yourself "in-the-know" with what they suggest to you too.  GL!

And Teacherjess, tell me how the new pedi works out!

  • We go to PriMed Pediatrics in Beavercreek and see Dr. Sonny Amisola, he is fantastic!  We've moved south 30 minutes and still drive to Beavercreek to see him.  :)

Completely agree!!! We first were with Ohio Peds. and thankfully switched to PriMed Centerville after DD's 1st bday....after we waited for 55 min. in the exam room... that was the icing on the cake! Very happy and impressed with PriMed Centerville's office - very friendly staff, and the office is always clean and well-organized. Have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes in the lobby or exam room.
