I've just started checking out Human Milk For Human Babies on facebook. They have a page for each state. I do want to donate my milk in some capacity... either to a milk bank (the closest is in NC and I'm in SC) or maybe to an individual.
My question is, would you be comfortable receiving milk directly from someone you don't know?
Re: s/o milk donating
I have a friend that uses human milk 4 human babies. She has a few rules, like she will only take milk from someone that is also nursing their own baby at the same time (makes sense) and she likes them to be about the same age. She also meets them and asks questions. She has used donated milk since her baby was born (she just turned 4 months). I'd be ok with it as along as I did some checking and they were also nursing their own LO. But that is just me
Come on Sticky baby!!

Well, there isn't a page for EVERY state.
Dang Californians must be too posh for that. Which is too bad, I've thought about putting an ad on CL for donating breast milk to a mother who might need it but thought someone might think I'm creepy. You know, the only people who don't think breast milk is gross is mothers. Everyone else thinks it NAS-TAY, but I don't understand why. It's life-sustaining food for babies, and it's antibacterial, and even gets fed to ICU patients who've had major intestinal trauma to mature their systems for real food. It should be sacred, not looked down upon.
/end rant. Sorry.
I would totally take it. I've thought about buying it but it's so damn expensive... and as far as donations go - I don't need it as much as moms/LOs in the NICU or with allergies... I am just struggling big-time with supply!
I say go for it. What a gift.
donate it to me!!! im in cali and my supply is low and i could use it
