Anyone going for child #3 after this?

DH and I have agreed to not discuss #3 until he turns 35 (a year from now).  I can't help be keep thinking about it!  I hated being pregnant - lots of issues this time around....but the idea of three kids has always been my dream.  I say idea as I am sure one year with two will put more reality into our decision.  Just curious if anyone else is contemplating another.  Seems the norm these days is two.

Re: Anyone going for child #3 after this?

  • I grew up with 2 siblings & I for certain want one more! I won't be having my next any time soon though.

  • This is my first (DH's 2nd) but I fully intend on having 2 more after this little guy is born.
    ...
  • Hell to the NO.

Omg, I can't even IMAGINE being pregnant again. That being said - I think I'd like to foster-adopt a 3rd. I"ve always wanted 3, but don't feel the need to make him or her myself!!

Hell no.  If we were to have a third, it wouldn't be for years but I'm pretty sure we'll be done with two.

  • I'm 90% sure I am done. 2 tough pregnancies, 2 completely unrelated NICU stays, and I swear I'm quitting. But I too kind of want a third. I may be certifiably crazy if I do it. :)

  • We're done. I'm 32 and by the time I'd be ready for another, I'd be pushing 35. We kind of knew we'd stop at 2 no matter what.

  • I don't feel done yet.  I might change my mind after this one gets here though Smile.

  • hellls no!  The baby shop is closed.  I have a tubal scheduled during my C-section.  I have no interest in being pregnant again, and I am not sure I could afford a 3rd.  Not to mention that I am 35 and my dh will be 41 this year.
  • We are on #3.  We will discuss a 4th next year, if we decide no, snip snip for the husband :).

  • DH really wants a son, so he's pushing for #3. I told him I'd do it on 2 conditions: that we get a bigger car and that my mom live with us (we don't have family in the area).

Yup, but we are going to try to prevent another for two years (like this pregnancy).  DH will be 35 and I will be 32.  I like the idea of having the kids two years apart, but who knows what will happen.

  • Not unless we win the lottery. It would be a really bad decision for us financially to have a third, plus the actual pregnancy this time was less than a walk in the park. I'm 99.9% sure we are done.

  • We are done after this. I told DH to start asking around for a good urologist. I loved being pregnant with my dd, but this time has been a totally different experience. I can't wait to meet my little man, but I never want to have to go through what I did with this pregnancy again.

  • For sure!

We will be waiting until DD #1 is in kindergarten because of the cost to have two in daycare. So, we'll have a few years between #2 and #3, but may want a 4th.

  • We're pretty certain we'd like 3, but we're taking them one at at time.

If we do, we'll space it out a little further this time though to avoid 3 in daycare- oy.

  •  nope, got tubes tied

2 was DH's max. I don't think I can endure pregnancy again. It was worse this time and I don't want an infant when DS1 is 5-6 and will be playing ball and doing things with friends.

  • We always planned on 3 and just had our third and I got my tubes tied :) we wanted 2 in 2 years and then one after a little later in life. So we have a 5yo 7yo and a new born :)

  • We may well be done after this first one.  I never thought I'd say that- but I just didn't enjoy being pregnant.  We always said we'd have 2 of our own and then adopt one or two more.... I think we may opt to adopt after this one and not have any more biological.

Of course it could all change after he's here.

DH and I are already talking about #3. We said we would wait till Christmas to talk about it, but the topic has come up already. I always wanted 4 kids, he wanted 3, so I think we are going to end up having 3. I can't believe I am about to pop with DS#2 and we are already "planning" when to have another LO.
  • I am on baby #3. This will be my 3rd baby in 3 years (3 year old, 1.5 year old and soon to be newborn). I could have sworn I would have been done after 2 but after I had my 2nd I had a strong urge to possibly have a third. My husband and I decided to try for 6 months, if it happened - great, if not - no big deal. It happened!

I am getting my tubes tied after this one. I had concerns about finances and adding a 3rd child but one of my good friends with 3 children advised me to make the decision based on your heart.....I totally agree. Sure, it comes with some sacrifices but we love our growing family.

  • This was my third...after I had Grady I immediately was thinking when is the next one? But when we had her and now she is home I do not have that feeling at all..I feel complete. Dh wants to get fixed but I am not ready for that permanent fix..yet. I don't know mentally if I can handle another and each pregnancy got a bit harder so ya..think we are done ;) and blessed!

  • I want a third of my own (DH already has 2...this LO made us a family of 6) but we won't start thinking about actually going for it for a few years.

  • This baby is #1 for DH and I, but we want a big family.  Idealy, I would love five children, but my husband is voting for four.  We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, but, God willing, I doubt we'll stop at two.

  • Dude, I can't even muster up energy to think about a possibility to even start considering about a number #2.

  • i think i'd prefer to be one and done, (i've hated being pregnant) but FI wants two (i think he just wants one more try for a boy...) i'm not saying 'no, definitely not' right now, but i'm not even up for discussing it until LO is 3-4 years old.
  • DH and I decided on 3 when we were still dating. DD1 was planned but DD2 was a suprise, we were planning to space them out a bit more. #3 will be a minimum of 3 years from now. We're just going with the flow and we'll see how things work out in the next couple of years.
