last week we tried to install the carseat into our Santa Fe, and i was stressing because the LATCH system was only behind the passenger seat, but when the car seat was in, the passenger seat had to be pulled up all the way to the dashboard.  So anyway, we took it over to the police station this morning and this super nice officer helped us put it in the middle seat using the seat belt.  This turned out to be even easier than the stupid latch system thing, and both the driver and passenger seats can move freely again lol

    YAY!!!! I'm relieved i've been worried about our car seat since your last post. I will just take the carseat to the police station down the street and be done with it :)

    You can go here https://seatcheck.org/ and find a local place that will help install and check your seat! Our pedi and OB recommended it.

    That's good, we may have to try that in ours! We have the snugride 35 in my Lancer and the passenger seat is not all the way up, but it is closer to the dash board than is comfortable. On a side note, I've called all the police stations near my house that are on the safety.org list and a list my health insurance gave me and they all have lame excuses why they can't inspect it anytime in the next couple of weeks! Baby is due before then, so we asked advice from friends and were sure it's installed correctly, but I'm still going to take it in when I can.

    What year do you have? We have a santa fe and had no problems using the latch. Granted we cant recline the passenger seat, but its in a comfortable position and is almost pushed back. Thats good you were able to take it to your local police station, i had more trouble getting it in by using the seatbelt than latch.
