Mother's Day Question!

Hello moms! Happy Mother's Day! Here's my question...if you are a 1st time mom, waiting for LO...will you still celebrate? I have a friend who's expecting in a month, and her DH told her she wasn't 'officially' a mom until the baby was born! HUH? So I thought I'd ask you....thoughts?

    I believe my husband got me a Mom-To-Be card and some flowers.  I did somethign similar for him on Father's Day before DS was born.

    My DH asked me what I wanted to do for Mother's Day. 

    So, yes, we are celebrating!

    We talked about it... but since our 13th wedding anniversary is the day after, we decided that we'd just celebrate our last anniversary without kids instead Smile

    I hope she told her DH that he was 'officially' a jerk :)

    Seriously, I wouldn't be injecting myself in the stomach twice daily, skipping wine with dinner,skipping that free trip to Germany, and eating my steaks medium-well (blech) if I wasn't trying to be a good mommy to my LO. The sacrificing, the worry and the love start way before labor.

    We're going to lunch with family and then registering for baby gifts and maybe stopping off for a pedicure (for me) and a margarita (for him) on the way home.

    I guess I will be the minority here... I am kind of a see it, feel it person for things to be official. So I expect my 1st Mother's Day to be 2012. 

    But that's probably just my opinion... I will be one week out come Sunday and have gotten some cards already. So it seems that everyone else feels I am a mother.

    My husband said I wasn't officially a Mom yet either, it didn't take too much convincing that he was wrong. I'm still thinking we probably won't celebrate this year but it is more financial than anything. My birthday and our anniversary have both been in the last 14-days. So I've been given the royal treatment to my satisfaction :).

    I feel like a mom-to-be. Not a mom yet. So probably won't celebrate. I don't know what my DH's opinion is though. Will let you know in two days:)

    SO already went out and bought me something. He is like a little kid that way. It is all he can do to not give it to me yet! So, yes, I guess we are celebrating this year!
