Babies: 0 - 3 Months

breast feeding mommy's, question.

ive been thinking.. so what happens if you go somewhere like say you go to an amusement park or something, the baby is not with you, but that breast milk is.. what do you do? you're gone all day somewhere like that and your breasts keep filling up.

  • That's what pumps are for.

  • I've never been in that situation. But I've heard other moms recommend hand expression to relieve engorgement if you don't have your pump. You can find a bathroom and excuse yourself for 10 mintues, I guess Big Smile

I guess if that were the situation, I would take my pump along. I can't imagine leaving DD all day but I would be so engorged if I didn't have her and I didn't pump.

you should pump close to as often as your baby would feed to keep your milk supply from dropping.

  • I've taken my manual pump and pumped in bathrooms.

  • I'd bring a mini cooler too cuz I'd hate to waste all that precious liquid

  • I went to dinner and a baseball game a couple weeks ago and was away from dd for about 6 hours.  I didn't pump and I needed to nurse by the time I got back to her.  Every once in awhile going that long is probably ok, but if possible bring a pump or hand express/
