February 2011 Moms

Can you believe it!?!

It is May.....around this time last year we were all DTD and our LO were conceived....whoa...crazy to think about!  What is one of your best and worst memories of the past year? (beside the birth of your LO of course!)

Worst: sitting on the floor with a terrible migraine at 7 weeks, and the smell of Glade cotton plug-ins...I could vomit as I type :)

Best:   Laying in the bathtub and watching my tummy vibrate and wiggle for the first time :)

Re: Can you believe it!?!

  • Worst: Having to run out of a massage several times to throw up. I was giving the massage. Also throwing up at Subway before I even ordered my sandwich. It was great walking back to the line with red eyes and broken out in hives.

Best: My 5 year old nephew was in love with my belly and would ask everytime I saw him when Annabelle would be here. He would randomly come up to me and lay his head on my belly or kiss it. It was so sweet!

  • It is so weird to think about it!

Worst - At the beach vacation last year the heat just made my nausea intensify so I spent most of my trip staying inside in the A/C and feeling like crap. And sitting there watching my family drink every night at dinner while I sipped on my water.

Best: Feeling him move. It was wonderful. : )

Worst: Freaking out over ever small twinge and pain in the beginning and the end of my pregnancy.

Best: Every time I felt him move.  I didn't have a baby that kept me up, in fact I struggled to get my kick counts most of the time.  I absolutely loved every little movement.

  • Worst: Being so darn sick in the beginning, and all the worry that I'd miscarry again.

BEST: Seeing how excited my two children got putting their hands on my belly and feeling her move, They'd shriek and giggle up a storm, they just loved it. And I love how protective DS is of both of his sisters.

  • worst:  laying on the floor of the bathroom

Best:  my older daughter kissing my bump every night before going to bed.

Strange I am getting my period on the same day as I did last year.......

  • Worst: Being morning sick at work.

Best: Taking long walks with DH in the two or so weeks before DD arrived. We spent a lot of time together just talking and daydreaming about what she would be like.

Worst: Accepting the fact that I would need donor eggs to have a baby.  When I got the news it was like having my heart torn from my body.

Best: Holding my miracle baby that was genetically mine.

I started my period this month the exact day that I started it the cycle I got pregnant.  Almost makes me want to TTC this cycle....

  •  Haha. I didn't even think about that. I'm going to mention it to DH when he calls me later tonight. I'm sure he will have something to say about it. lol.

Worst: DH missing the birth of DD, DH being stationed in Okinawa for a year without us, Going to my appointments alone and seeing all the other women with there s/o.

Best: DD being born, Feeling her kick when she was in my belly, getting excited to go to the Doctor to see her and hear her heartbeat.

  • Worst: Having morning sickness for 4 months.  Actually, it was hyperemesis because it got so bad I could barely function.

Best: Hearing LO's heartbeat for the first time.  It was the greatest sound I had ever heard.

  • worst: DH and I missing the birth of DS

best: feeling him move, he was quite the kicker! I also miss having a shelf to rest my hands on. I never had a "plate rester" but I was one of those automatic tummy toucher PG women.

  • Worst: we took the train from Seattle to Chicago when I was about 12 weeks along and I had horrible morning sickness. The worst moment was at night on the train trying to decide if it was better to puke in a garbage bag in our tiny train room or go to the bathroom on the train; which was gross from, I assume, men trying to pee while the train bumped along.

Best: the first time DH felt the baby move, his face was priceless.

  • Worst: Calling my doctor at 2am in severe pain on Thanksgiving and spending two nights in l&d. Turns out I "just" had kidney stones.

Best: Visiting my nephew after he was born in August. My sister and bil adopted him 10+ years after beginning ttc.

  • Worst: Praying that my cerclage worked.  I was a nervous wreck everytime I went for cervical check

    Best: Feeling him kick.

  • Worst:  A little over a year ago I found out I was pregnant.  On Mother's Day I miscarried.  It was the most difficult thing I have ever been through.

Best:  We decided to wait through my next cycle and they TTC again, but my next cycle never came because in June we found out we were expecting again.  That moment was a tie with the moment we saw LO for the first time and found out she was a girl (I so badly wanted a girl and we were team green).  Awwwwww...nostalgia.

  • Worst: The constant rib pain. I had it from just past 20 weeks until the day I delivered. They did all the tests for liver and gall bladder issues and found nothing, and it didn't ease after she dropped. I could not get comfortable and it got worse the more pregnant I got.

Best: ...there are so many. Showing DH the positive pregnancy test after we had gotten a negative a week earlier was pretty damn good. So was the moment my DH became a father... I will never forget his delivery-room coaching. And of course every time my baby girl kicked.

  • WORST- Having to spend 3 days in L&D for PTL.

BEST- finding out that we were having a little girl and that our family was complete

**I technically still have almost another month until I ovulated and conceived. ( june 2nd)

Worst: Going to the hospital at 24 weeks while on our anniversary vacation.

Best: Feeling her move all the time!! I really miss having a baby in there, but I love having an outside baby Wink

    I married a ginger.

  • Worst--anxiety and obsessiveness over every twinge during the first trimester

Best--finding out we were having a girl!

  • Worst: Peeing into not 1 but 2 giant pee jugs for 24 hour periods for urine protein checks, spending the night in L&D for pre-e symptoms at 22 weeks due to all of a sudden high blood pressure and protein, then being scared at every ob apt after that when they took my blood pressure that they would send me back to l&d (which happened 3 times, and the third they induced me at 38 weeks), 2 weeks of bedrest, and my horridly swollen poor feet from standing at work.

Best: The look on my husbands face when he saw LO during my c-section and seeing him become instant super dad and so proud to show everyone his baby boy. That and being able to put on my own shoes again, and being able to fit my feet into shoes other then flip flops again once the swelling went away!

  • Worst: stupid family drama over baby showers ruining my relationship with my favorit aunt

  • Worst:  Being so sick for the 1st 18 weeks.  Vomiting at work, while driving, in bed, etc.  Then I had vomiting and diarrhea that sent me to the ER.  Not fun!

Best:  Watching my bump grow and having DH feel the kicks.

  • Worst: Having morning sickness horribly on our family vacation that included a nine hour drive and having my little sister accuse me of faking how sick I was (she finally realized I was serious after she heard me puking in the bathroom)

Best: One night over the Christmas holidays when I was pregnant my BF and I stayed in and made cookies and watched Elf, for some reason was a perfect night. Also the first time he felt our LO move was priceless :)

  • WORST: Thinking that we might have had a blighted ovum when we couldn't see her heartbeat at the first visit and the fear in my husband's eyes with the emergency c-section.

BEST: Telling my parents that they were going to be grandparents and holding her for the first time.

  • Definitely weird to think about it! We found out a few days after DH's birthday- we were both so excited!

One of the best moments for me was finding out DS was going to be a boy, and seeing all his little fingers and toes on u/s. It was so exciting!

I think the worst moment was the c-section.. but obviously the end result was worth it. Smile

  • A year ago today we were in Jamaica for 2 wks to start TTC and little did we know it but by our 2nd week I was pregnant. Of course it explained why the 2nd week I had little energy, could barely tolerate the smell/taste of alcohol and didn't want a cigarette, this was the total opposite of our first week.

Best Memory was when my mom and H came with me for my U/S.  I loved seeing both their faces as this little alien was wiggling around.   DH looking amazed and my mom with tears as the staff referred to her as Grandma.

Worst memory was sitting int the ER with bleeding/cramps and being told that it was a possible threatened miscarriage and how at 11/12wks there was nothing that could be done if it happened.
