Evan got his tubes put in yesterday and did great. He took a 3 hour nap that morning, but other than that he was his usual self.
He went to daycare today and was fine. His teacher said he had a good day but that he did feel warm in the afternoon, but he didn't have a fever. When I picked him up at 5:30 his temp was 99.4. By 7:30 it was 100.8. At that point I gave him ibuprofen. We talked to the on-call staff at the Pedi's office and she said to call in the morning to make an appointment, but if we felt it was serious to take him to the emergency room (why did I even waste time calling).
Since I didn't find much when I googled this issue, I was wondering if anyone else had this experience with their LO.

Re: Fever after getting ear tubes?
Hopefully you woke up this morning and he doesn't have a fever!
When got discharged from TCH, they said he might have a low grade fever, but to give Tylenol and if that didn't break it to take him back to TCH. We had a fever but I think it was more to do with teething than it was the tubes. Tylenol did the trick and we didn't have to go back to TCH.

Blah! What ENT are you using? I really hope it's nothing. Dylan's been messing with his ears, and we brought him to the pedi to be sure his tubes were ok last week (his follow up with the ENT wasn't until this week). His ears are fine, but he's teething terribly. Maybe he's teething too and it's just a coincidence? Good luck!

We are using Dr. Martin in Sugar Land. He is also my ENT. Ya know, I think EVan is teething and I hope it is his molars because he already has his K9s. All of his teeth are in the front so he still can't chew much.
Anyway, it looks like the infection that was starting before he got his tubes is trying to really get going, so he is now on an antibiotic. Better safe than sorry since he was getting an infection and the surgery can cause one too. I really hope this is the last one for a long time.

Did they give you any drops for the ears? When we were sent home we got drops we had to do three times a day for 4 days to get rid of infection that was there when they put the tubes in. (just a thought once you said infection)
Hopefully with the antibiotics he is MUCH better!
Yeah, we got the ear drops. Evan screams and cries when we do it but we *think* we were getting them in. Thanks!
