I know I've seen some questions on here about getting them while pregnant, so I thought I'd throw it out there that I got one today and it was not that bad!
My waxer was someone who had experience with pregnant clients and I took extra strength tylenol before hand, both of which I think helped. The pain level was comparable to what it had been pre-pregnancy, and probably even on the lower end.
Just wanted to share, in case anyone was worried about it!
Re: For those wondering about brazilians
Thanks for sharing...I have REALLY been considering this...
I wax my eyebrows at home and tried to do the other...OH NO...Never EVER EVER again will I try that...lol...maybe it wouldn't be as bad if someone else done it.
I had one last Saturday and I agree that it wasn't any worse than pre-pregnancy. I hadn't had one since before I moved from the City to a small suburb, so I was a bit worried, but my aesthetician was super sweet and did a great job.
FWIW, at our first childbirth education class this past week, the instructor (the head obstetric nurse where we will be delivering) advised that women who want to groom definitely get waxed instead of shaving. She said shaving may cause teeny nicks you aren't even aware of which have the potential for infection during birth.

I had one at about 6/7 months and it was horrible. Like 150% worse then it ever was before. Then I just got one two weeks ago and it wasn't bad at all. I went to a different place, so I think a lot has to do with who does it.
Yes you should cut it down or they will. Try to find someone who does not use the cloth strips and instead just special wax that hardens and works without the strips (like the Red Door salons). The strips hurt a lot worse in my experience.

This is why I've been using an electric razor with a foil, rather than blades. I'm shaving blind as it is, so I wanted to decrease the risk of nicks and cuts as much as possible.
I USED to get brazillians, but I haven't found a place I like here that costs less than $75. I just can't justify spending that much on it. My old place was $35 when I started, and had gone up by $10 when I moved, which I was okay with, but $75 is a little too pricey for me.
The few places I found that were in the $40 - $50 range were either scummy, or I just didn't like the waxer who worked on me.

Sorry, this ended up being a P&R- yes, I think the tylenol made a big difference because it hurt less than some I've had pre-pregnancy, and I don't normally take anything before hand.
As for the poster asking about trimming- I would let them do it for you. I had been using an electric trimmer, so I had some hairs that were too short to be waxed off.
