My parents had no back up name if I had turned out to be a boy ( they had no idea what I would be boy or girl). I guess I just would have been Heidi either way.
My mom just told me the other day that she was sure I was going to be a boy...but I didn't ask what name they had picked for me.
My brother was almost Christopher, but then was changed to Aaron, so maybe one of those. I'm a little suprised my (very very atheist) dad ever had really agreed all that much on Christopher though.
I don't think my parents had a back up name. They didn't know I'd be a girl due to u/s or anything, but my mom was convinced I was a girl and had my name picked out long before she met my dad. Thankfully it worked for both of them.
My brother was going to be Christina Noel if he was a girl. He married a Katrina.
I would have been Kelly either way. My parents chose what they thought were unisex names for all of us kids. My sister is Shawn and my brother is Kevin. They just would have spelled their names differently (Sean and Kevyn)
i think my mom said she just "knew" i'd be a girl and the other name my parents had in mind was madeline. my sister, vanessa, would've been a derek. not sure about DH.

I actually posted this below....I would have been Nicholas.
Then my first love turned out to be a Nicholas, lol.

I don't know what Dan would have been.
Timothy Alan (which is my younger brother's name)
I had a lot of "should have been" names...
Mom wanted to name me Hilary Rae, dad hated it so they had "settled" on Elizabeth Rae but dad was not so hot on it either. Then they found my name.
If i had been a boy I would have been Colin
DH was supposed to be MIL's girl...so he was gonna be Patricia...that didnt work out so he is Patrick.
