I know you made your twins their play kitchen out of a coffee table? Right? Did you use a "template" of sorts? I love the way yours turned out and I want to do one for DD for Christmas. And figure I should get started as soon as possible.

Re: Is Leslie here? I'm not a stalker...I promise.
I did make their kitchen, but it was from plain boards (mostly 1x12's) not a coffee table. anawhite.com is where I found the pattern/instructions for it.
And it's really sturdy. I regularly catch one or both of them either sitting on the open oven door, or trying to climb on top of the stove and sink, and so far it hasn't fallen apart.

No I will not AW my talents!
Here they are playing with on Christmas morning:
It took maybe 2 weeks of working on it during nap times, about 2-3 hours a day. It might have actually been closer to one week, I don't remember to be honest. The building itself only took about 3 days, it was the finishing and painting that seemed to take forever.
Haha, tell him he's a lying liar then because they also got a work bench for Christmas, and together they don't even take up a whole wall in their playroom. I can PIP that too if you want.
I would love to see it. We really don't have room for it because the only place there will be room is either in his room or maybe the one wall of the living room. Hopefully we will be able to afford to finish the addition that the previous owner started eventually. I would really like to have a playroom (and another bedroom for baby number two while still being able to keep the office.)
Kai will have an entire play kitchen set and washer/dryer at my parents so I guess that is okay. I am going to get him the play grill set that can go outside though.
Here's their work bench:
It's not massive or anything, but it holds all their tools and stuff with plenty of room to play on it too. (And they have since acquired about 3 times the amount of tools shown in this picture.) It's small enough that it could easily fit in a spare corner somewhere. They love the work bench, but they play with the kitchen a LOT more.
OMG Love the work bench too!! I can def. see how the painting and finishing would take way more time.
What an awesome gift... I bet it will last long enough to get passed down to their wee ones ;-). (Not trying to make a comment to rush them to grow up... just a comment on how sturdy and well built it looks!)
