::tiffany::

Hey lady - I just read your post and my heart sank. I was bummed today when I had to pour 2 oz down the drain after leaving it in the nursery and forgetting about it. I couldn't imagine. I hope you are holding up okay. ::HUGS::

Re: ::tiffany::

  • Meh, I've cried about 20 times today. Mostly because I was going to donate 600oz of it to a milk bank for NICU babies. When I saw all that spoiled milk, I cried because I thought of all the precious babies that NEED that and could have had that, and it's all gone. :( Everyone on my FB keeps telling me that I can rebuild that stock, but it took me 3 MONTHS to get that much! And I was pumping several times a night to get all that. My LO only wakes once a night now, so I don't pump that much any more! It'll take me longer!

    But I need to get over it. Crying won't bring it back, and I've been snapping at my older kids all day because I'm angry. The worst part is, DH won't take responsibility for him/his friends who may have done it, but he did move the freezer so it can't come unplugged ever again unless it's done on purpose. And, he has to tell his friends from now on ALL plugs are off limits.

  • I would have Lost. My. Mind. I think those guys should all have to try a pump for 20 minutes so they really understand the frustration and the agony... Actually, they should have to put it on for 856 minutes, one minute for every ounce lost. If I were in your shoes that *might* help me a little bit feel better...

  • Oh my God, I just read this.  I am SO SO SO sorry that you lost all that milk.

    Tiff, you've always been my motivator for pumping--even when I don't feel like it or if I don't think I'll get much out, I always think of the awesome stash that you'd built up, and do it anyway.  Not sure if that makes you feel any better, but my DD will benefit from your motivation when she's still drinking BM a few months after I wean her.

    Awww, you made me tear up! YOUR DD will benefit from YOUR motivation, and that's awesome. :)  I just won't be able to retire my boobies for a few extra months, but I should still feel privileged to be able to nurse and pump for as long as I do.
