Gross but need advice

Has anyone had a boil???

Iz has what I think is a boil on her butt cheek, her foster mom mentioned that she gets big pimples on her butt and that she gets meds for them but the social worker doesn't know anything about it.  Not sure where the communication stopped there, but whatever...

So this thing is a good sized, hard lump under the skin and she says it hurts.  As I was checking it out, it popped Ick! (no, I wasn't squeezing it) so I wiped it up with tissue and let it be.  I am going to call the Dr. tomorrow to schedule an appointment but what do I do in the meantime?

    yes yes yes - My mom used to get them so bad.... she would have to have them drained.

    Boils  sucks.... if you popped ir it popped do hot compresses so it can continue to drain.  Hot soaks in the bath and then gause it ... ALSO - THE STUFF THAT COMES OUT OF BOILS is very contageous and it can spread.. so clean with alcohol.  

    Like i said my mom used to get them in her arm pits and thighs would have to have them cut an x in to them and drained.  SO ot compress to get it to a head and make sure you hot compress to drain ... 

    There is boil ease - she used it helps also .. she started taking lysine*s) supplements and this has kept them at bay.  

    Ask me anything about them I'll ask my mom... I had one on my neck/ear area not big  but it was a PIA  thank god I take after my dad mostly.

    No experience at all with boils, but I hope you are able to get through to the doctor this morning and get some answers!  Was Iz upset?

    No appointment but our LL is a Dr. at the clinic right down the street and said to bring her in this morning.  Yay for knowing people!

    Iz wasn't upset, just said it hurt badly and that it felt a little better when it popped.  I checked it again this morning and the lump isn't as big so it must have drained some overnight.  The area is hot to the touch so it's obvious something not so good is going on under her skin.  Hopefully it can be cleared up quickly, it's in an area that she can't really avoid sitting on.
