S/O Anniversary Gifts - 5th wood???

I need to come up with something cool for dh, that doesn't cost and arm and a leg and follows the traditional schedule which I have done from the beginning. I am brain dead right now so if anybody comes up with anything brilliant, let me know :)

what about a golf club (driver)?  Sushi set (wooden chopsticks)?  Wooden model (plane, car)?  Cool wood frame?

Please note I am refraining from making a bawdy suggestion involving wood that I'm sure your DH would like.

I even asked DH and he immediately thought of that same bawdy suggestion and that's all he came up with (no pun intended).

  • I went there too!! What about planting a tree? I googled tree symbolism (art history only taught me about flowers...) and I liked that crab apple trees stood for eternal love. Plus they are gorgeous in bloom.

Or you could get something naughty to do with the other "wood". Surprise

  • DH tries to stick to the "theme" of the anniversary as well.   For our 5th, he gave me a lovely wooden quilt rack for my antique quilt.    So a nice piece of furniture, maybe?

I love the tree idea, too!

  • I found this great jewerly site when I was looking for a Mother's Day gift that has didffernt ideas for anniversary gifts by year.  Not to mention wooden gifts too if you're a traditionalist.
  • Thanks for asking...we're coming up in 5 years also!

  • My grandfather made a wooden, I guess for lack of a better word, slate or plaque that has our last name on it. He carved a log bearing my maiden name for my aunt and uncle. It sits in their front yard with the flowers, kind of welcoming people to the [maiden name] Residence.
  • So I went on Etsy and found some really cool wood gifts.

    Stuff like this:

    I think I may find something :)
