Which Bumpie?

Made her own baby washcloths? I'm interested in making them, but I thought I remembered she had to track down a special fabric.

Re: Which Bumpie?

  • I don't know which Bumpie, but I bought some from a vendor at the Jack and Jill sale. They are local in Monroe. They have Etsy shop too, but of course I can't think of thir name.... They are AWESOME! They have 2 types of fabric and are SUPER soft. One side is almost like flannel. They sold them for a dozen for $13.00. Actually that was for wipe size, a bit smaller than the square washcloth. Those were a dozen for 15 I think. I'll look up their info later and let you know so you can at least look at their site to see what the fabric is if you want to make your own. I remember they sell the fabric too. They had a TON of fun prints.

  • I wasn't the bumpie...you need to find terry cloth. It isn't too hard to find (in white).

  • Washcloths or diaper wipes?

I made my own diaper wipes... One side is flannel and the other side is birdseye cotton. Pacific Fabrics carries birdseye cotton.

I made my own cloth wipes, mostly for her bum but they work for the face, too.  I just used flannel from JoAnn- some print, some solid.  They're super ghetto but they work.  I saw the wipes Lauri mentioned, they had some absolutely delicious ones with OBV on one side so they're super soft.  We only have a couple OBV wipes but those are my favorites for face.

  • I made a bunch of washcloths/wipes, too.  One side is flannel (cute prints from Jo-Ann and/or Pacific Fabrics) and the other is terrycloth (some bought as fabric, some cut-up soft towels from Ross).  I just did a tight zigzag stitch around the edge and trimmed it close.  They are slightly ghetto.  I am hoping they wear out so I can borrow a friend's serger and use some bamboo velour to make more!
