Now I'm going to be lumped in with Mariah :(

So Mariah Carey announced her baby names yesterday.  Her daughter's name is Monroe...  I am due in August and chose Monroe a long time ago for our boy name, low and behold we're having a boy.  So now, I'll have a baby named Monroe too.  You think people will think I am a copy cat even though I named my kid a long time ago AND he's a boy?  This happens when celebrities name their babies, I wanted Mason before we even started thinking about having another one, then Kourtney Kardashian beat me to it. ::sigh::

    Oh, I love that name! I wouldn't worry too much about people thinking you are a copycat. I've learned that almost everyone will have an opinion of the name(s) you pick for your child(ren); but you just have to move past the haters. Opinions are like a-holes... Wink

    Our name for a boy this last time was Louis. Lo and behold, Sandra Bullock named herself a Louis a couple months prior. I hadn't heard the name used popularly for a new baby in ages prior to that. Of course!

    FWIW, I think Monroe is a much better boys name!

    I don't think you should worry about that at all! By the time your son is old enough to go to school, those kids will be history. Nobody will even think of them anymore.

    I have always loved the name Mason, since early on in college. I babysat for a family with 4 boys and the youngest 2 were Carter and Mason. I love both of those names, DH wasn't crazy about Carter, so we went with Mason. Even though it's Kardashian's baby's name (I don't watch the show) I doubt that will even be relevant once my Mason is older.

    I honestly thought you were going to post a nude pregnant picture of yourself in a compromising position with your DH.  I'm glad I was wrong.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, google mariah carey pregnant pictures.  They are awful.  Great name, BTW.

    When I read the post title I wondered if you were also thinking of naming your child an adjective. So I was relieved to see it was Monroe ;) Seriously though, with Mariah, why Moroccan and not just Morocco? I have heard of naming people after places, like India, China, Paris, or America but you don't hear of people being named Indian, Chinese, Parisian, or American. Stupid stupid stupid Mariah Carey. (and I was totally sure she would name her kids Nick Jr. and Princess Sparkle Pink Butterfly)

    Oh I have seen those pictures, NEVER in a million years would I do that.  I can hardly stand to look at myself pregnant for these few months, much less for eternity.  Gross.
