I didn't know you went to JMU too! What year were you? I would have been c/o '02 but ended up transferring after 3 semesters- it was just too far from home for me.
I was class of 2005, so I started in 2001. I think it was a great school! At the time I didn't love Harrisonburg, but I think if I went back now I would appreciate it more. DH went to Eastern Mennonite University (he wasn't Mennonite, he just transferred there to be close to me.)

Yeah, the Burg isn't exactly a happening place, but it has it's charms. I do wish I could go back for the Green Valley Book Fair, though- I loved that thing. Where did you live? I lived in McGraw-Long my first year and then moved off campus (got a dog) and was in an apartment at Squire Hill (aka the only place that allowed dogs) with a couple of roommates including my BFF. My DH's SIL goes to UVA and they have family in C'ville, the next time we are visiting there I'm tempted to drive over to the campus and see what's new over there since it's been a while.
The 'Burg has grown a ton. The year after I left they even put in a Target! I lived in Potomoc Hall my first year. (They were pretty new dorms on the other side of I-81, so I'm not sure if they were there when you were there.) Then my second year I was an RA at Wampler on the Quad. After that I moved into a tiny, little apartment across the street and down about 1/2 a mile from the quad (towards downtown). They were very old and not at all the typical apartments that JMU was surrounded by. Most people didn't really know they existed because they were so unusual for JMU students to be living in. But that's what happens when you move in with your boyfriend instead of your girlfriends! Oh well, DH was worth it. It's pretty amazing to run into someone who knows about JMU all the way out here in Washington!

Potomac was brand new when I was there, but I never spent much time on the ISAT side of campus, other than for softball games (sorority squad. The dining hall in that side was amazing, though. I'm actually from CT and had classmates that went to JMU too. It's not quite so far from there as from here, though as I said it was still too far for me. Still a funny coincidence we both went there and wound up in Seattle!
