I scream everytime Dex drops phonebooks on my front porch. The books are totally uncalled for (in my house anyway) and go directly into the recycle.
Lucky for me we can opt out now. Here's an article that explains the situation and how you can choose to opt out.

FYI - I'm Seattle and have opted out in every way possible, and still get them.
They just run trough neighborhoods and drop them on porches...I doubt they ever check a "list"...yes, it sucks!
Report them. That article says they can get a $125 fine.
I'm pretty sure I've tried opting out before too. But I think the city now "mandates" that they honor people's opt out wishes. They can be fined $125 per unwanted book. Hope it works!
This is correct, the sites run by the phone book people have no penalty if they ignore your opt out, but Seattle is now penalizing if they ignore the opt out from their site, so definitely report it!
