Clammy Skin/Sweating

I have two questions:

DS's skin has been kind of clammy (sticky to the touch) for about 1 1/2 weeks. He is not always warm when it is like this. Sometimes he is cool and clammy. When i take his temp it's normal. Has anyone experienced this? Is it a symptom of teething?

Also, he sweats very easily when he's hot and even if he cries hard also with no fever so far. I worry about it because he stays at a family member's house while I am at work and sweats a lot there. When I'm there, the house doesn't seem much hotter than mine but he doesn't sweat as much when he at home (not sure if that's relevant). Does anyone else have a sweaty baby? If so, do you take any measures to prevent overheating or dehydration?

I talked to an advise nurse and they said as long as he is not overly lethargic and is having wet diapers, he is fine but it would still be comforting to know I'm not alone.

Sorry so long. Thanks for any advise.

Re: Clammy Skin/Sweating

  • I assume it is teething. She has had a clammy head off and on for the last three days with no fever.Yet she has sweated enough to wet her hair. She is teething BAD. I mean really bad.

  • Thanks. It is reassuring to know I'm not alone. DS is teething really bad too. I hope for both of them that the teeth pop through soon.
