I'm going to start this by saying I have a great husband. He's wonderful. That being said, I was not expecting a mother's day gift from him this year since the babies aren't here.
I'm in charge of our finances. Every Wednesday I go onto Mint.com and I go through our weekly purchases, categorize them and make sure we have plenty of money for the next week. Yesterday, I ended up not going on to check everything for some reason so I did it a few minutes ago. Well, MH knows I do the balancing on Wednesdays.
And today he bought me something at a jewelry store. And it showed up! So now I know I have a mother's day gift and I'm really curious and I want it now! haha. I'm not telling him I know, of course. But I feel bad because I know he knows I'm not expecting anything and he wanted to surprise me.
Re: Bragplaint: I ruin everything
I balance our finances too and for this exact reason, MH uses his dads credit card to buy me gifts then once I receive the gift from him he transfers the money to his dad.
I'm so bad I snoop for gifts so he treats me like a child and hides it all from me!
I've done the same thing with our accounts - logged in and seen a store I like and figured out a present was headed my way.
Please post a lovely AW post back here when you get whatever it is!!!!
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
Oh I will! I'm definitely not above an AW post! haha.
DH and I have our own seperate accounts, then we have our joint account that rent, bills, and groceries get purchased on. I have my own checking so that he doesn't snoop to see what I am spending my money on and I don't do the same. It seems to work out perfectly for us.
I used to have a joint account to where it was pretty much his account, but I was on it and I always would find out if he bought me something. So now it's always a surprise
