How long does your LO nurse?

My LO usually nurses for 30 minutes - an hour every.single.time. And during the day, he wants to nurse every couple hours or so. I feel like I literally spend half the day BFing. Sometimes it is actually quicker for me to pump and then feed him from a bottle than it is to BF him, but I don't usually do that because I don't like the hassle of having to deal with washing bottles.

Anyone else have a slow eater? I love BFing him, but I feel like it takes up a lot of time, and sometimes I'm jealous of people whose LOs nurse for 10-15 min. at a time.

    Mine has started nursing for 8-10 mins but sometimes he cluster feeds and as soon as he's done comes off and falls asleep I start to put myself away and then he'll start rooting again.

    Until this past sunday, it was 40 min-ish total.  Now it's 20 min total.  The 6 week growth spurt helped boost my milk supply, and his nursing skills.  I'm thrilled!

     

    But it also means I have to entertain DS for 20 minutes longer than I used to.  Oops. 

    Baby Boy Born 3.15.11. 8lb 9oz, 21.75in. 6 month stats: 20lb 11oz (92%tile), 30.12in.(100%tile - who knew it went over 99th? Which means 100% of other 6 month olds are shorter than mine!)

    I used to nurse 20 minutes on each side, but I think he's getting more efficient at emptying the boob. Now it's more like 10-15 mins per side.
