Someone brought up that they spoke with their doctor about it and was wondering if anyone has experienced it. Shameful to say, I was the only one. When I had my oldest son, I ripped from my ootsie to my tootsie and my tootsie has never been the same (appearance wise). But my lady part healed fine and didn't change the sensation one bit.
Hopefully I didn't scare anyone and this was 23 years ago. So many advances in the medical field have happened I'm sure since then to avoid this.
Re: Clitoris tearing talk on my month board
not shameful...meh, it happens. Childbirth isn't always pretty and it's rarely glamorous...and if that scares some people, that's probably for the best.
I had minor tears in the other direction, nothing major though.
I think that if more people had ALL the information about child birth and parenting, pregnancy rates would go down!!
*faints*
And here DH is worry about his 'fit' ..
My daughter was 8lb 1oz & I didn't have a tear, but I am worried about ripping/tearing this time around.
Okay.. the ootsie and tootsie part kind of confused me... but I think I've got it. You're lucky that it healed and didn't change sensation... and NO.. even with all the medical advances in the last 23 years.. this STILL HAPPENS.
I had major damage down below, but internally... varicose veins INSIDE of me which tore the muscles inside of my vag. Between the nerves and the scar tissue.. I am not the same.. sex hurts (depending on position), and even tampons hurt.
My OB said that 2nd babies often seem to "fall out" and that it is really elastic down there, so this baby shouldn't be a problem. I'm really, really considering a C section b/c of how long it took to heal last time (only 17 months ago!!) and just out of plain FEAR that the tearing will happen again. I said "what if I have varicose veins again?" and he said..."you probably do." I've been surveying everyone I know about c sections. It just scares me.
