My super quick natural birth story

Better late then never. This board and reading the birth stories were such an inspiration for me before I gave birth to my DD. She was born the day before Thanksgiving, and is now 5 months and amazing!  I have been meaning to post this for months, but the time has gotten away from me.

    Bored at the veterinary ER tonight...and just happened upon your story.  Kudos on your natural birth!  :-) 

    There are quite a few veterinarians on TB!  (I hang out on Parenting After a Loss mostly, with another veterinarian, and there are 2 on PgAL, too!)

    I'm super impressed at the way you stood up to your doctor - sounds like you advocated for yourself really effectively. I hope I can do the same!

    "I told him my water had broken, and that I wasn't having contractions yet, so I figured I should bake!"

     LOL! That part made me laugh!

    What a gorgeous and beautiful story!!! I'm a veterinarian too, wanting to go natural as well - i hope i have your relaxed attitude when i go through this with my LO! Congratulations!

    I didn't realize there were so many veterinarians on the bump! I am an equine vet:)  I really think taking the Bradley classes helped me stay so relaxed through the whole thing, I don't think I ended up utilizing the relaxation techniques so much during the actual labor, but just knowing exactly what was going on really helped me stay relaxed.

    I have already told my husband that baby # 2 will be born at home, I really don't want to be in transition in the car again :)
